The Dental Hospital and School of Dentistry, as part of Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, provides a unique range of dental services for the people of West Midlands and further afield. It is an integral part of the University of Birmingham, School of Dentistry and is there to support undergraduate and postgraduate dental education.

Between the NHS and the School there is clinical expertise covering all dental specialities. These include general anaesthesia, children's dentistry, oral medicine, oral surgery (including treatment under conscious sedation, orthodontics, periodontics, primary care including unscheduled care, restorative dentistry including anxious adults with treatment under conscious sedation.

This expertise provides an important resource to the General Dental Practitioners and the population of this region.

If you in dental pain, swelling or have had a dental trauma please contact your own dentist in the first instance.  If you are not registered with a dental practice and require urgent help please call NHS 111.  

NHS 111 call handlers will discuss your needs and provide you with information about where you can be seen.  You may be offered an appointment slot at Birmingham Dental Hospital or at one of our community based unscheduled care clinics across Birmingham and the Black Country.
