Cockermouth Community Hospital at Isel Road is an 11 bed GP/nurse led unit for adult patients which provides medical, nursing rehabilitation and end of life care to enable local people to be cared for close to their own homes.

The current community hospital building in Cockermouth is over 100 years old but a new £11 million purpose build hospital is currently being developed and is due to open in 2013.

The community hospital also provides medial, nursing and therapy services to patients, tailored to their individual needs.

The physiotherapy department provides out patient muscularskeletal service for predominantly adults.

Cockermouth became an Integrated Care Organisation in 2010 - where both health and social care services work together.
