The Trust has begun the exciting £11 million refurbishment of the Purley War Memorial Hospital using government funding.
From October till July 2013 the only service on this site will be the nurse-led Urgent Care Centre (UCC) for minor injuries and conditions.
The building is being completely redesigned and refurbished to provide better out-patient and diagnostic areas and bring the currently disused wards back into use as clinics and GP practice.
To make sure we can carry out the work to schedule we have moved all out-patient clinics, therapy services and diagnostic services from Purley hospital to other locations - most clinics will be re-provided at Croydon University Hospital.
One exception is blood tests which will continue locally at Keston House Keston House Medical Practice in Brighton Road.
This service will run from Friday 26 October 2012 and will be held every Friday from 08.30 – 17.00 with a break for lunch between 12.30 – 13.30.
All appointments for Keston House will continue to be booked via the Trust’s Phlebotomy Department and patients are asked to call 0208 401 3420 to make an appointment for this service.
The Croydon University Hospital walk-in blood testing service will continue as normal.
We are sorry for the inconvenience but hope everyone agrees it will be worth it when the new facility opens in the summer of 2013.
