Westmorland General Hospital is operated by University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust - which provides a comprehensive range of acute and support hospital services for around 350,000 people across North Lancashire and South Cumbria.
The Trust operates from three main hospital sites - Royal Lancaster Infirmary, Furness General Hospital in Barrow and Westmorland General Hospital in Kendal - serving a population spread across an area of over 1,000 square miles. It is also responsible for outpatient services at Ulverston Community Health Centre and Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe.
Each of its hospitals is staffed by highly committed teams of doctors, nurses, midwives, allied health professionals and support workers, delivering a range of general hospital services and striving to give excellent, compassionate care to the people of Morecambe Bay.
Westmorland General Hospital provides a wide range of services including a 24 hour *Primary Care Assessment Service (PCAS), *GP led medical care, Chemotherapy Unit, Renal Unit, Breast Screening Unit, Cardiac Catheterisation Lab, Midwife-led Maternity Unit, Elective Surgical services, Outpatient and Diagnostic services, including pathology, radiology and endoscopy, and allied health services departments, such as Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Nutrition and Dietetics, and Pharmacy services.
