The Birmingham and Midland Eye centre, is the second largest eye centre in Europe, receiving referrals from GPs and hospitals Birmingham and the West Midlands.

We treat the whole range of eye conditions from relatively common, minor complaints through to Glaucoma, Cataracts and diabetic related eye conditions.

Our teams also provide treatments for rare conditions not available elsewhere in the UK.

Additional information

The Birmingham and Midland Eye Centre A&E Monday to Friday 8.30 to 7pm (although the department is open until 9pm to allow doctors and nurses to see and treat patients who arrive at 7pm). The department is open in the mornings at weekends. Outside these times, patients can be seen in City Hospital's A&E department where facilities are provided to assess and treat patients with eye problems. The outpatient department at the Birmingtham and Midland Eye is open every weekday from 9am until 5pm, although some patients are required to come in earlier for tests.
