Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust is an acute Trust providing hospital services for approximately 420,000 people living across south west London and north east Surrey.

Our two principal hospital sites are St Helier Hospital, and Epsom Hospital.

Queen Mary's Hospital for Children - on the St Helier site provides children's services to Sutton and Merton. We also own and operate a limited range of services from Sutton Hospital.

We also run services from a number of other local hospitals, nine satellite renal dialysis centres, and manage the Elective Orthopaedic Centre, which is based at Epsom.

We have a dedicated team of 4,400 staff, supported by almost 500 active volunteers, who work around the clock to make sure our patients get the care and treatment they need. Our Chief Executive is Daniel Elkeles (pictured).

In all, we see and treat more than 700,000 people per year, which works out at approximately 1,900 patients every single day.

We are going from strength to strength in terms of our performance, and in recent years we have met the vast majority of government standards expected of us.

The Dr Foster Good Hospital Guide (December 2013) ranked our hospitals as in the top 29 out of 143 for having lower than expected mortality rates.

Figures from the Care Quality Commission's 'Survey of women's experiences of maternity services'  (December 2013) show that the vast majority of new parents said that they were always treated with respect and dignity during labour and birth (we scored 9.3 out of a possible 10), and that any concern they had were taken seriously by staff (scoring 9.2 out of 10).

Most importantly of all, the feedback we receive from patients, either through independent national surveys or our own internal research - shows that their experience has improved too.

Departments and services

We offer an extensive range of services to the people of south west London and north east Surrey, including Sutton, Merton and Epsom.

These include 24-hour A&E departments at both Epsom and St Helier hospitals and two dedicated maternity departments. We also offer a number of specialised services, including, among others, cancer, stroke, immunology, sexual health, allergy and dermatology.

St Helier Hospital is also home to the South West Thames Renal and Transplantation Unit and Queen Mary's Hospital for Children, whilst Epsom Hospital is home to the renowned EOC (Elective Orthopaedic Centre).

Whether you're starting a family and would like to have your baby in our home-from-home birth centre, or whether you need dialysis and would like treatment closer to your home, we could have the perfect service for you.

You can see a comprehensive list of all of our services on our website.
