Overview

Emergency Department, Royal Preston Hospital

Royal Preston Hospital provides a wide range of emergency, elective and specialist healthcare services to 370,000 local people and 1.5 million people across Lancashire and South Cumbria.  The region's Major Trauma Centre, and Rosemere Cancer Centre are both based at Royal Preston Hospital which also provides specialist renal, plastics and burns, and neurosciences services.  The Specialist Mobility and Rehabilitation Centre, also in Preston, provides care for people with disabilities including amputees.  Our maternity service includes a newly built neo-natal unit.

Our Centre for Health Research and Innovation undertakes a wide variety of clinical studies and trials to develop new drugs and treatments.

We provide award winning education programmes for medical, nursing and allied health professional students in our state of the art learning facilities which are amongst the most advanced in the country.
