32 CLIFTON UPDATE

 UPDATE  7th March 2017

Essential work following water damage at one of York Medical Group’s sites is due to get underway.

Restoration work is now underway and is expected to take about three months. We are hoping to open 32 Clifton in June 2017.

The 32 Clifton surgery site had to close temporarily in December to allow the recovery and repair work to start, meaning services had to be delivered temporarily from other York Medical Group sites.

To overcome the damage, fix phone lines and make the building safe, the surgery building is about to undergo three months of renovation work.

Zulf Ali, a Managing Partner at York Medical Group said: “We’ve managed to contact the majority of patients to notify them that prescription collections at 32 Clifton have been transferred to the practice on Water Lane in York and that GP appointments will be moved to either Water Lane, Tower Court or Monkgate surgeries.

“We are working as hard and as fast as we can to get the site open as soon as possible and I’d like to thank our patients for bearing with us while the repair work takes place.

“The York Medical Group team will continue to provide updates on the temporary closure and in the meantime, if patients need help or advice they can call any of our other sites or go to our website at www.yorkmedicalgroup.co.uk.”

 Phones

We have a very unfortunate situation at present where it has been reported that many of you are having difficulties getting through to York Medical Group sites by phone.  This is a particular problem for Water Lane and 32C. We are investigating the problem and trying to find a workable solution.  In the meantime we are increasing out man power on the phones and hope this will alleviate the situation.

To help ease pressures further we are encouraging patients to book appointments and request prescriptions using our online system. If you are not already signed up for this service you will need to bring photo ID and proof of address to any of our sites and they can register you for the online system.
