  1. Review titled Terrible patient care

Rated 1 star out of 5

    by - Posted on 08 February 2024

I am currently under the urology team. I have been struggling for 2 months to find out what actually wrong with me. They’ve sent me home about 5 times and I always had to go back. Eventually they’ve decided to admit me because I was retaining urine and it got to the point where I couldn’t walk because of the pain. They’ve done no tests in the hospital, they’ve sent me home with painkillers and antibiotics even tho they had no idea what going on and further mri’s and ultrasound. They’ve told me it was out under as emergency, but guess what it was sent as normal and now they won’t see me in the clinic because I would have to go to A&E for them to refer me back to urology. Currently home in excruciating pain and no help or answers from the urology team. Would not recommend to anyone, having to go private now because of their poor care.

  3. Review titled Outstanding care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Linda Bull - Posted on 19 December 2023

Chesterman cardiology open heart surgery has improved my quality of life ten fold. From my initial diagnosis in Scarborough and referral to Sheffield for surgery (highly recommended by my own cardiologist) . My surgery took place at the end of October, I was cared for brilliantly by icu, pcu and Chesterman 4. At every stage I felt I was in good hands with great pre op checks and provided with lots of information. I went into surgery well informed and confident. I was also visited by the (shock) volunteer who could talk about his own experience and I found this really reassuring. My post op care was also fantastic, my surgeon visited me in recovery to reassure me everything had gone to plan. The staff on the wards were patient and encouraging, especially when I was afraid to move. After a week I was home where my recovery accelerated and by my 7 week post operation visit to the hospital everything was really positive. I can't thank the Chesterman Unit enough and would highly recommend them.

  4. Review titled NGH Endoscopy Suite

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by Sue B - Posted on 26 June 2023

I attended today for a colonoscopy and had the best care and service that our beloved NHS has to offer. I was treated with kindness, dignity and respect at all times. I was given constant reassurance during the procedure and afterwards the consultant came to tell me the findings and tell me what would happen next. The whole team were absolutely superb. Thank you to you all.

I had the best support I could have asked for, through a difficult pregnancy. The nurse’s and midwife’s were amazing . We ashamed to think that we took notice of the bad press initially . What a credit to the NHS these people are . Words can’t say how greatful we are for these amazing people , Thankyou with all our heart for what you have done for us x

  7. Review titled SPA mistreatment

    by tigercz47 - Posted on 05 December 2022

Terrible. Been fighting for access to the right mental health support, and denied at every stages, long wait lists of months/years, sometimes get paired with a therapist not matched to you so therapy breaks down quickly and you have to go back on waiting lists. Even when in crisis unless you are going to actually do something to yourself, feels like they don’t care.

  8. Review titled No parking

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 26 October 2022

Turned up for covid jab. On booking requested parking. Only parking available was permit holder only, with 60 pound fine. Carpark empty. No parking available on nearby streets. Waste of time off work to have jab. Anything connected with northern general seems to go wrong. So it is only this hospital that I am unlikely to recommend.

Rheumatology, unhappy I'm still waiting for xray results and rest of results, unhappy that she made out in first letter I had no pain and wasn't entirely honest why she wanted xrays, why reference was made to me having tattoos no idea. They are over 20 year old, all I want is my results I tryed cancelling appointment 3 times for 2nd appointment as ii didn't see point if she thinks I have no pain, I've been upset as I'm in pain 24/7 I'm sleep deprived struggling to work now too Please just give me results of xrays

  10. Review titled Another lovely experience

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 26 August 2022

I’ve just given Birth to my second Daughter at Sheffield’s Jessop wing and I can honestly say I do not have a bad word to say, neither did I seven years ago when I had my first daughter there. To begin with all the staff members have been friendly, warm and welcoming, from midwife’s to the Doctors’s, to the domestic staff, each working person I saw made me feel happy and well looked after. My labour was a smooth process, the midwife really helped me make the right choices for myself in terms of receiving pain relief, she guided me, cared for me and reassured me throughout, she made me feel safe with her calming personality, she was absolutely wonderful and I can not thank her enough. On the ward (whirlow) I felt nothing but relaxed which is unusual for myself as I do suffer with health anxiety and I do not feel comfortable being left without my partner, but being greeted with smiles and being listened to and being responded to without delay really helped. The ward and labour unit were well kept and this again made me feel even better about being there. I really felt the need to write a positive review, because of the recent pandemic and some of the negative comments I’ve heard circulating about Jessops. I just want to say a massive thank you to each person who works there, you all do an amazing job, I’m happy at home and with my two daughters, we’re all healthy and it is all down to the care we received from you all. I will certainly be letting everyone know about my positive experience, once again thank you so much!
