    Called up 8am and by a miracle was number 1 in the queue. Call was answered 25 mins later. Yet I was number 1. It has become apparent they are prioritising people who come into the surgery at 8am to get an appointment, yet it is not advertised anywhere that you can do this. They need to have one person manning the people in the surgery and one the phone. More than one on each is most definitely too much to ask. The phone menus says that you can come to the surgery between 9-11, yet you cannot, as I tried this last week, arrived at 9am to be told that there were no more appointments left, and was told they don’t do that anymore. Complete false advertising that hasn’t been removed still. My husband was advised that his referral appointment last week was in the Royal Liverpool Hospital. They said they couldn’t print his letter for him but would write it all down. They wrote Royal Liverpool Hospital. He arrived and it wasn’t there, it was in the Royal Garston Hospital. He missed his appointment. There is no privacy, shouting all over the reception “what’s up? Well what’s the matter?” it’s private. Have some decorum. Receptionist, if your not going to acknowledge someone standing at the window, and are instead going to walk away with your lunch to put in the fridge, at least look up to the queue and say “I’ll be right back”. Lower the radio. Some people are here with acute migraines. And you’ve got the music thumping. Asked for a telephone consult, was told had to be face to face (hilariously ironic considering a few months ago you couldn’t get near the place) still waiting to be seen an hour after my appointment time. Had to arrange childcare and will now be very late. Ridiculous. The place needs a massive overhaul and a competent surgery manager. asap. Looking at these reviews they only respond to the good reviews.

    I attempted to contact the surgery via their call back system I actually waited 6 hours and never got a call back The system is a complete failure Most popular answer is " the person you are trying to contact is busy" which is rather odd as it is an automated service I find it hard to believe that I was 14th in the queue and still waited 6 hours

    Saw the doctor on the same day. Doctor asked if I could remain until the end of Morning surgery to give more time. Rang the hospital on my behalf and pulled out all the stops.

    Excellent service from Gateacre Brow surgery, they really could not hav been more helpful, especially the 2 receptionists that I dealt with, thankyou girls, brilliant attention from GPS also Well done !!!!

    I have received excellent attention from Gateacre Brow Surgery right down from the GPs the nurses and receptionists, they are always very efficient caring and helpful, they have now introduced a sit and wait, which means you get to see a GP on the day which is I’m sure what we all want, Which is brillian, the team are making every effort to improve and completely overhaul there system to make the sure the patient gets the care and help that is needed. thank you for working extremely hard in these trying times Well Done!!!

    I always receive good care and attention from the staff The receptionist s are very helpful dealing with my quieries .the Doctors take the time to listen and explain their diagnosis and which medication I would receive.The nurses are very efficient helpful and caring.

    I've been a patient at the practice for 44 years, it used to be well managed with good GPs. Over the past few years, the service has become diabolical. The appointment system doesn't work, it's disorganised, nobody seems to know what they're doing and communication between GPs, Nurses, Reception staff and patient is dire. A couple of the reception staff and nurses are rude and although you seem to be on hold for literally hours, nobody seems to be ansewering the phones when you're sat in the reception. My blood pressure is raised when I have it taken at the practice and I'm pretty certain that it's dealing with the staff here that raises it. When you eventually do get to see a GP (who very seldomly seem to be in), they're good but getting to see one shouldn't be this much of a stressful ordeal. I understand that the NHS is stretched but this is just not acceptable. I'm currently reading reviews for other surgeries so I can move elsewhere but I'm worried that I'll just be jumping from the frying pan, into the fire.

    3 hours on hold as a telephone queue gets from 11 callers to 2, then on 2 for half an hour until I hung p. decided to use the "Emergency appointment" button to at least get in touch. I am currently 40 minutes into waiting on that. None of the blue highlighted "links" on their website work for either the Gateacre Brow or Hunts Cross surgeries, So it is fundamentally impossible to get in touch. Service is non-existant, Care or any attention to a patients needs, wants, routine or emergency, do noit exist. The practice might as well not exist.

    Advised to call at 8am to book appointment but very rarely is call answered. Often the phone cuts out due to time waiting for an answer, if you are ever lucky enough to get through guaranteed all appointments will be gone & you’ll be advised to try again at 8am the following day. It’s really not worth joining this practice. Gp’s are great if you manage to see one but the practice doesn’t really provide the service you would expect or you get from other practices.
