The whole experience was very efficient with helpful and understanding from all the staff . The surgeon came out to reassure me I was in safe hands, a nice gesture and as this is is eye surgery very much appreciated . I didn’t feel that I was one of many many patients , it felt very individual . Very good care throughout. Thank you !

I found the service the second time I had eye surgery as good as the first, professional and all done in a nice environment with pleasant staff. I was kept informed throughout the process and felt very safe.

Experience was good although would have liked a follow up call the next day. Also an explanation of what could be expected I.e colour changes in new lens.

I have now have had both my eyes treated with new lenses. I cannot rate the service I received highly enough. All of the staff members I met with were highly professional and caring. The surgeons talked me through each step of the procedure as they went along, reassuring me that all was going well. I felt confident that I was in safe hands throughout both operations. It was pain free both before and afterwards. As expected a bit scratchy for a couple of days but within twenty four hours I was seeing the world with crystal clear vision. Having just had the second eye done has made a massive difference to the crispness of distance vision and my reading only requires the weakest of reading glasses. I’ve discovered the brilliance of colour again and as someone who works with colour daily, it is an absolute miracle . Thank you to each member of staff who I met with . I am so, so grateful. Sue

From the initial consultation to the actual cataract surgery everything was dealt with very swiftly and efficiently. The staff are very friendly and happy to answer any questions about the procedures . On the day of surgery the staff made everything as relaxed and stress free as possible with their calm, friendly, and cheerful attitude. Surgery was painless and surprisingly quick, followed by a very welcome cup of coffee ! A lovely team - a big thankyou to all of you.

It’s been good, I was seen to quickly and everything explained well. All questions answered. I was offered an appointment for my surgery on the day of my initial assessment.

I was recommended to Newmedica in Exeter by 5 friends from our local Church who had all had wonderful treatment there so when I was advised by my optician that I needed a cataract removed I advised the Referral Service that this was my chosen place for treatment. I was amazed that I was given an appointment for my assessment 2 weeks later. All of the Team could not have been more helpful & I was really impressed with the care & kind attention I was given at my appointment. The process & options available were explained clearly to me & after the assessment I was given a date 2 weeks ahead for the surgery so it was only 4 weeks in all from being referred to having the cataract removed. On the day, I received wonderful treatment & the surgery only took 15 minutes & was completely painless with absolutely no discomfort. I arrived at the Centre at 9.20 & left at 10.20. The instructions I was given were completely clear with emergency contact numbers if needed. Since the surgery I have had no problems at all & my vision in my 'new' eye is wonderful I can see things really clearly & so much brighter. Thank you so much to all the Team at Newmedica in Exeter you are the best!

I went in July to have my second cataract operation and was again impressed by the kindness and efficiency of the team and by how much less scary than expected the actual operation was. I was also amazed by how quickly the two procedures were scheduled from my referral in February. I was thoroughly prepared for the first procedure by three members of staff, including the surgeon, and I was much reassured by their words and demeanour. It isn’t the most comfortable of procedures but there is no pain and it is very quickly over and I was absolutely fine very speedily after a cup of tea and a rub down of my hair with a nice dry towel! The procedure did involve some water which trickled over my ear and hair. The recovery was very quick and I couldn’t believe the change in my sight on both occasions - I was stunned at the colours and what I can now see having been very myopic and worn glasses and contacts for most of my life - what a gift! I would like to thank the surgical team and the receptionists at Newmedica for all they did - as their care before, during and after surgery is of a very high standard.
