  1. Review titled Super service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

My Dr referred me to talk through the murder of my son as I was overwhelmed dealing with the murder trial. I had 2 sessions. The Therapist was empathetic and I felt heard.

  2. Review titled Great Service

Rated 4 stars out of 5

I had 6 sessions with one of your counsellors who was very helpful. She really helped me to understand the feelings I was experiencing. She was full of empathy and I really benefited from the sessions.

  3. Review titled They ghosted me

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 05 September 2023

I was so happy to finally be getting help, they told me there was a waiting list of 3-4 months so I wasn't expecting any contact untill then; I randomly saw an email saying I was discharged from the service because they asume I don't need it anymore because I didn't reply in a certain amount of time. It also didn't help that they don't give a warning when they're going to contact you for your assessment (I was in the middle of a driving lesson when they called me), but I emailed them asking if I can continue their service and they ghosted me even though the email says if I wish to use their service in the future I can.

  4. Review titled A good, practical programme to manage anxiety/worries

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Sarah - Posted on 01 August 2023

The programme follows a logical and easy to understand introduction to CBT and provides excellent tools and real life examples to help you progress through the modules and your journey. The aims of the programme are realistic and help you arrive at a more balanced few of your anxieties and worries. The regular fortnightly reviews with the therapist are a great way to test your understanding and ask any questions. I really feel this has helped me to understand more about how I become anxious and worried, how I behave when I'm feeling those emotions and how to better manage those emotions before they can become overwhelming. I would recommend this programme.

  5. Review titled Really helpful

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 17 August 2023

This was my first experience of talking therapies, and I found my therapist to be absolutely excellent. He enabled me to take the sessions at the pace that worked for me, without me feeling pressure, and asked really helpful and intuitive questions that helped me to analyse/assess situations and my thoughts better during times outside the session as well. The care was really good and I'd definitely recommend dhc talking therapies to anyone.

  6. Review titled 2nd time having CBT, and beyond pleased with the results

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Rosie - Posted on 09 May 2023

I have just finished 6 sessions of Cbt following a self-referral for anxiety and ocd. I am overwhelmed with how far I have come in such a short space of time and that's thanks to the great work of my therapist and her support. I found the 'homework' side really helpful, and made me feel more confident about being able to practice the techniques that I was taught once the sessions had finished. My therapist always made sure I had the documents we worked through in the session sent to me straight away, and these are ones I will keep to refer back to. This is my second time seeing Dhc and yet again, they have exceeded my expectations and cannot fault them. Thank you so much for your continued support, it is really appreciated.

  7. Review titled Would definitely recommend!

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I received 10 weeks of CBT following a self referral to the service due to struggling with anxiety and depression caused by symptoms of long covid. The therapist was understanding and provided me with various techniques to use to help me manage my negative thoughts and feelings. Upon discharge, although still experiencing symptoms of long covid, I am feeling much better in terms of my mood and my adjustment to my new life. The therapist completed all sessions online and provided detailed tools following each session. In summary, a positive experience and something I would definitely recommend!

  8. Review titled Same 6 sessions of CBT you get through NHS.

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 07 March 2023

I approached them directly hoping I could have any other talking therapy as I am pregnant and was told I would be a priority. I begged them to let me try anything other than CBT which I've had before and has never been remotely helpful. As I scored 1 mark higher in anxiety than depression they weren't interested in helping me at all with my prenatal depression and only wanted to give me the bog standard 6 sessions of CBT which I'd already explained I had tried and didn't help me. I declined CBT (as I said I would) and they discharged me. Total waste of time. No idea what I'm supposed to do now.

  9. Review titled Talking Theraphy far outweighed my expectations

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 30 March 2023

I completed eight sessions for mild general anxiety and moderate health anxiety which manifested itself in both physical and emotional symptoms. The sessions posed some difficult questions and resulted in some deep reflections on childhood, etc. This resulted in me understanding why I had the issues I have which helped enormously. My therapist was amazing and guided me through the ‘loop’ I’d found myself in. The homework really helped me shift my focus via journalling , distraction techniques and ‘the though court’. I am amazed at how far I progressed in a short time and how much more positive I feel. I am grateful for the incredible help I received . Thank you, you’ve changed my life.

  10. Review titled fantastic practice and staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by JOHN hiley - Posted on 16 November 2022

never having to face up to what i was experiencing before was the hardest step to take. the person i talked to made me feel welcome for the very start and was extremely helpful in helping me open up and talk through issue that i had been carrying for a lot of years. the methods use make you fell relaxed and willing to take part in general discussions which lead you open up as to where you are with your health and what sort of help and direction that you need to be looking forward to achieving. learning that it is not a disease that you have and if you open your mind and let people explore with you then the elephant in the room starts to become smaller and you can see that glimmer of light shining through. i would like to thank all the staff at dnc for there commitment in helping me get some where on road to recovery and making sure i am safe and looking forward to continuing the work to fully recover.
