  2. Review titled Terrible reception

I've found the receptionists rude and unsympathetic, the phone system always cuts you out so waiting in an hour queue or a gamble. This isn't just from one experience, it's happened 4/5 times and is the norm. I've also had receptionists try to give me medical opinions which were not asked for or correct. I've also been given incorrect sample bottles, this resulted in me chasing my own results you see what's was taking so long to be told I don't the wrong test... I was given another wrong sample tube to complete another incorrect test.

I’ve been trying to book an appointment with a doctor for weeks due to having stabbing headaches without any luck. I’ve been to told over and over there are no appointments available and my illness isn’t serious enough for them to give me an appointment. I have been diagnosed with suspected Arteritis which needs medical care as soon as possible but no one is helping me. Please don’t register here as you will never get the help you need b your doctor.

  5. Review titled Really not great

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Laura Owen - Posted on 18 July 2023

We have had one issue after another with things just not being done properly. Recent issues include: lost samples (and only finding out they've been lost because I've phoned multiple times to chase results), referrals being done incorrectly (for example blank paperwork being sent off by staff, resulting in additional wait times), referrals actually not having been sent when I have been told that they have and had text confirmations, a member of staff incorrectly telling me that my daughter's results were abnormal but did not need to be discussed urgently, sending me a text message with an appointment for two weeks later, to then receive a phone call from the GP a few hours after this conversation to say she needed further testing as the results were indicative of diabetes. I don't understand what goes on, the staff are usually helpful over the phone, but mistakes keep on being made. I would avoid this practice unless you want to spend half your life ringing to chase things and make sure things have been followed through.

  6. Review titled Terrible service

Rated 1 star out of 5

On 26july 2023 I requested a repeat script of turbanafine (thletes foot cream). I received a text to say that as the last time that it was issued 2018, I would need a review. Text went on to say that the practice had no time to do such a review and to contact 111. Rang 111 and they said they would send a request to the chemist ( next door to docs). I phoned chemist some days later to be told I couldn’t have it as it needed a doctor to sign it off. I explained my situation to be told go to boots and pay for the brand name. I am 73yrs old and since this practice opened in it ivory tower I have been fobbed off so many times and now being fobbed off by the chemist now. Did try to change practice but was told can’t as it’s nearest to me.

  7. Review titled Appointment

Rated 1 star out of 5

Rang up at 5:15 was number one in queue waited 20plus mins to be answered, asked when next available appointment was and was told mid August over 3 weeks away. Was not offered any alternative and as I travel to work at 8 am, know about this as been told previously, I am unable to make a call at that time!! £100 to go private & be seen same day or very latest the next…!!! And you want a pay increase !!! I am not a regular so when I need an appointment I’m calling as I’m in pain & can’t be solved by google or chemist if it is my cancer returning … this is on you

  8. Review titled Hard work

Tried to get on day appt called at 8am-queue position 10. call answered at 9.30am-no appts can get Out of hours to call me on Sunday- no Nurse appts. Unorganised, lack of service, ill prepared and disappointing! considering I rarely call the GP for an appointment, and any treatment I require always requires follow-up appt which I am unable to get so lots of incomplete treatments, wasting more of NHS money

  9. Review titled Poor service

Rated 1 star out of 5

I am a retired nurse and have worked in the NHS at a senior level for 50 years. I have to say how appalled I am at the current poor standards at Chapelford Medical Centre. Receptionists are triaging requests for appointments and it is impossible to book a GP appointment. I was offered an appointment on 15th November! My phone call requesting an appointment was on 15th October. I am in severe pain and should not have to wait that long to be seen. Walk in centres are too far away. A and E is not appropriate. This is absolutely disgraceful and very unsafe practice. Also whenever I do attempt to phone them the waiting time ‘on hold’ has been as long as 1 hour and 10 minutes! Financially and time costly to me, and when eventually answered, no appropriate resolution. This is not the fault of receptionists but is the fault of poor practice management. Disgraceful situation. I love the NHS, but feel very disheartened, disappointed and uncared for by Chapelford Medical Centre. They used to be so good. Their new beautiful building is lovely but the service delivery needs to be reviewed and restructured. I will not be put off by the defensive excuses of the receptionist staff and will complain at the highest level! This situation is completely unacceptable!
