I was referred here by 111, and after reading other reviews I was a little worried. I was in and our of the Eye department A@E within 2 hours, the nurses and Doctor I saw were friendly and very helpful, tbh I couldn't have asked for a better team.

  2. Review titled Lack of action for simple issue

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 23 April 2024

After being recommended to go to A&E by 111, I arrived at 3am hoping to get some pain relief as I have had pain for 10 months, but it was particularly bad this night. I was triaged quickly but ended up staying until 11am (9 hours). After checking with reception for some information at 10:30, they informed me of a note on my file stating I was to go to primary care for 9am. However, I was not told this so was left in the main waiting area, meaning I missed my slot at primary care. After visiting primary care they informed that I would have to wait another 3 hours due to missing an appointment that no one told me I had. At this point I decided to leave and have had to miss work to see a gp. I understand a&e are extremely busy and this isn’t necessarily anyone’s fault, but you can imagine my frustration after being in there for 9 hours, without even being offered any form of pain relief, or even an examination of my symptoms. If I was informed of the slot I had at 9 then this issue could’ve been solved, but unfortunately there is evidently a lack of organisation/ communication, meaning the nearly 10 hours spent there had not one single benefit to my condition. I have complete respect for the strenuous nature of working in a hospital, but I also feel as though this issue could’ve been avoided with something as simple as communication.

  3. Review titled ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ For City Hospital A&E

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Nicola Pearce - Posted on 18 March 2024

From my own experience when I attended with an injured ankle/leg on Tuesday 12 March 2024, I cannot praise the staff and the treatment I received enough. Throughout I was treated with care and respect and my wait was minimal. From being wheeled in at 10:03 a.m. I was triaged, X-rayed, and assessed, diagnosed with a fractured fibula, fitted with a compression walking boot, and crutches, and discharged with a follow-up appointment by 11:20 a.m. They were wonderful and so patient and caring in what is a very hectic, and high pressure environment. Thank you all so much, I really do appreciate you help and care. Kindest Regards Nicola Pearce.

I went in to have a suspect growth in my right eyelid, the consultant and his team were fabulous, they made me feel safe, they were kind as my pulse started the machines off, couldn’t fault anything about my experience. Well done all

  10. Review titled Incorrect information

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 24 December 2023

Attended an and e with an eye problem. Asked if it was worth me waiting or should I return to the eye unit in the morning. Several different members of nursing and reception staff said to wait. Waited 8 hours. Saw a very nice doctor who was very apologetic but said that I had been wrongly guided, that he could not treat me and I should return to eye unit next day. Complete waste of my time, nhs time and busy hospital waiting room space.
