  2. Review titled Eye casualty advice

by Ponytail - Posted on 25 March 2024

My son has a flare up of uveitis so we call the eye triage but the call ended after a minute message so not able to talk to anyone. We tried to call eye casualty reception for advice and the receptionist quickly dismissed us telling us to call the other triage and when we ( tried to) explained that it was not possible to communicate with anyone he said they were busy then for some unknown reason ask me not to shout when I replied I wasn't ( please feel free to listen to the record call around 12.15) she hang up . This is unacceptable unprofessional and potentially negligent

  3. Review titled Children’s A&E was absolutely fantastic

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Ruth - Posted on 15 March 2024

Excellent service at the children’s A&E! Nurses and doctors were all brilliant, patience and caring. There were plastic screens in between seats in the waiting area which was a huge relief and even some staff giving out refreshments! Probably the smoothest and easier A&E experience we’ve ever had!

  4. Review titled Appalling

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Colin Wiles - Posted on 27 March 2024

Appalling experience from start to finish. Staff and departments do not communicate. We were referred by Deal hospital but the eye clinic claimed to have no knowledge of us. Staff there were rude. We were sent to the urgent treatment centre for triage who sent us to zone D, waited there for 90 minutes and then were sent to the eye clinic who admitted they did have a referral from Deal! In zone D there was a sign on the wall saying it will take three hours to see a GP (would a non-UK resident know what a GP is?) but when I queried this I was told it was out of date! At no stage were we given any indication of how long each stage of the process would take. In between all of this a lot of staff seemed to spend time chatting. The only bright light was a volunteer in the Eye Clinic who tried to help. Four hours from start to finish. Overall, most of the clinical staff are good but they are let down by poor management, poor processes and lack of communication.

  5. Review titled Thankful for all the hard work and care by staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by David - Posted on 06 March 2024

My young daughter had an abscess in her back. She was in a terrible way despite the painkillers and antibiotics that had been prescribed to her at another walk-in centre. As she got increasingly worse, we eventually were instructed to attend the William Harvey, where they gave her morphine (which did not work), and we were told to return the following day for surgery. Whatever they did was transformational, and I am amazed that they did this all with the shortest possible notice. There was not one member of staff who did not give her the utmost care, whether it was the nurse who saw my daughter and wife in the car park and rushed over with a wheelchair to the anaesthetists, surgeons, etc. My wife and daughter are attended to by people who genuinely love their jobs and care for them. I am amazed that the staff who work within the NHS have not given up. The press is full of negativity, always stating that it is failing. An amazing group of people is holding it together. This is not a one-off; my sister was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2010, and she is still with us now; along with the removal of her breast, chemo, hip replacement because of the chemo, and whatever else came up, she has been thoroughly looked after. Of course, there have been failures in some areas, but there needs to be balanced views and coverage, which I do not believe to be the case. To all those who work in the NHS, there are common people like me who fully support your request for pay and conditions and are thankful for your amazing work. Thank you!!!

  6. Review titled Brilliant team

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by Mr L R Parry - Posted on 13 March 2024

I had a catheter angiogram on Monday, was very anxious, but the staff was excellent put me at ease, My Nurse surpassed him self, so helpful and explained every think well, But all the staff was friendly with a smile, only problem was waiting for the report which took a few hour's. It is a shame they do not have the funding from the trust to make it a centre of excellence doing high end surgery to save people going to the London hospitals,

  8. Review titled MaxFax - Wonderful Service, Great Staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by Tricia Casey-Green - Posted on 09 March 2024

I have been attending Maxillo Facial dept for quite a few months now for various issues brought on by another rare condition. Everyone, from reception to secretarial, to nurses and consultants have been nothing short of fabulous. Kind, considerate and professional. Friendly without being familiar. I had to wait for eventual treatment and even a minor mix up was dealt with in a sympathetic way. The consultant involved was brilliant and knew about the condition that brought me to the door, which was reassuring. There were other patients who needed their services more than myself, and they also had nothing but excellent things to say about them. This department is great - and I would like to make sure that they know that.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Sarah - Posted on 22 March 2024

My daughter suffer an anaphylactic reaction, she was treated with dignity and respect. She was seen very quickly in an and E. Blood tests were taken quickly, we had a wait for the results. We then went to serc unit! The staff there were kind, caring and reassuring to a very frightened 16 year old.

  10. Review titled Great care and kindness

Rated 5 stars out of 5

My mum has sadly been at the William Harvey since last Tuesday at midnight. The care she has received from everyone from critical care to the staff on Kent a2 ward has been outstanding. I know they are busy yet everyone has gone above and beyond. She’s been so well looked after and I’ve been here for 12 hours some days so know it’s constant and she even asked me to do this. Thank you for everything all of you.
