  1. Review titled Excellent Care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

On Wednesday April 10th 2024 I was admitted to TGH A&E after suffering a fall at home resulting in a head wound which would not stop bleeding. The Ambulance arrived within 20 minutes of calling and I was taken straight into a cubicle and seen by a doctor promptly. The care I received was 100% by everyone who attended to me. I cannot fault the care given and I am grateful to all concerned. Thank You.

  2. Review titled excellent service for attending sdec dept with chest pains

Rated 5 stars out of 5

From first attending on Mon 18th as a referral from my GP I could not find anything wrong with the excellent service I received. From the staff member who brought me a cup of tea and a sandwich in the Same Day Emergency Care department to the nurses and doctors. Not to mention the very polite chap who escorted me to the CT scanner unit

  3. Review titled Excellent Treatment.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I have recently had major surgery in the Orthopaedic department at TGH and cannot recommend my treatment highly enough. From my first appointment with the consultant, through to appointments, pre-op, theatre, ward and aftercare, everyone was professional, friendly, efficient and caring. I could not have had better treatment anywhere. Thank you to all concerned.

  4. Review titled Terrible

Rated 1 star out of 5

Has any of the managers gone and sat in those hospital seats in the A&E waiting room? Try sitting in them for nearly 5 hours, they do not support your back, you can’t even sit back in some because that would mean leaning your head against someone else’s head behind you, or if you are sitting in the metal chairs near the 2 toilets (in the whole of the waiting room) as they are bent back. It’s ok though you can amuse yourself watching the tv bearing in mind there’s only 1 position you can see it from. An elderly gentleman wanted some water but no water dispenser available. I challenge the managers to go and sit in those seats for 4 hours? Can you do it? Or did it look so good on paper! I’m now in bed for the 3rd day running with pain in my arthritic back because of the chairs. I didn’t go to A&E with my back! Try and see from a patient’s viewpoint what it is actually like sitting there. Or did you think of you made it comfortable we would voluntary stay longer? 1 tv ? And you can’t even see it. We go to A&E in a vulnerable state, praying our name will be called next, go and see what it’s like for the real people who are waiting.

  5. Review titled What happened to Children’s A&E?

Rated 3 stars out of 5

Spent 4 hours with a 6 year old in the walk in centre as thought it would be quicker and less traumatic than a&e? What happened to the children’s section, nobody signposted us to it? It was built way before covid but not been mentioned since?

  6. Review titled Shocking

Rated 1 star out of 5

After having an urgent appointment expedited by my GP, after an ultra sound radiologist had requested further imaging and a more rapid appointment, I turned up this morning, after nearly 2 months of terrible pain. No urine sample was asked for, no physical examination took place and I've never felt so rushed at any medical appointment in my entire life. I still have no answers as to what the pain is but I do have a leaflet, giving me information on how to prevent UTIs!!! In my 60s with a 40 year history of UTIs, I think I know about preventative measures. Considering this was an expedited urgent appointment after weeks of intense back, flank and groin pain, 8 courses of antibiotics and not even an examination took place, its an utter disgrace. Just given pesaries to try and prevent further UTIs but no proper discussion regarding the pain i am in now. Paid for my own CT scan after waiting so long for an appointment and this was made available to the doctor but my NHS blood test from 3 days ago wasnt even discussed. Thank goodness for the pharmacist at my GP, who later the same day informed me of the results. Well looks like I'll be back paying again to see a private Urologist. Fumming is an understatement, I was in leaving the building in less than 10 mins from my name being called.

  7. Review titled Quick appointment - staff lack any kind of bedside manner

Rated 4 stars out of 5

I was seen on the 2ww pathway for a breast lump. Whilst I was seen very quickly from the GP referral, and indeed on clinic and ultrasound, I found the department somewhat lacking. Every clinician or nurse i dealt with (breast clinic and radiology) gave the absolute bare minimum in friendly interaction. Nobody smiled or asked anything other than formal questions. Bedside manner was completely lacking in every member of clinical staff I came across. I find this quite poor when patients are in a clinic where they may need some sympathy or distraction. I’m aware the NHS are busy, but this was just awful. I’m a clinician, and I’d be horrified if patients had the same experience I did at my place of work!

  8. Review titled Great service.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Trevor Seddon - Posted on 25 January 2024

Booked in and was attended to very quickly indeed. Went through the triage system with tests had as a result of seeing the triage nurse. Saw the Doctor who was very professional, efficient, friendly and explained everything to me. This is the great service TGH provides for the community. Every member of staff I saw was professional and caring. Well done TGH.

  9. Review titled Very poor

Rated 1 star out of 5

The person I saw regarding my medical issue was very dismissive and talked over me when I tried to explain my symptoms. To make matters worse, when I viewed the letter sent to my GP regarding the consultation, they had added two symptoms on that I was not suffering with. Very incompetent to record inaccurate information when it comes to an individual's health. Doesn't give me any confidence in returning here in the future. I sent feedback regarding the error but did not receive a response.

  10. Review titled Visit to Urgent Care

Rated 4 stars out of 5

    by Catwoman71 - Posted on 31 October 2023

Visited the Urgent Care Centre last night (30/10/23) after being short of breath and wheezing due to coughing. Lovely lady on reception booked me in. Expected to be there for hours. Within 45 minutes the Dr called me in (really pleasant gentleman), listened to my chest and diagnosed me with a chest infection. 55 minutes after booking in I was on my way out with a script for antibiotics, steroids and the inhaler I needed. Faultless from start to finish
