  1. Review titled Great Department

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by S. Thompson - Posted on 08 April 2024

Whenever I visit Respiratory Clinic I am always happy with my treatment. The Doctor is one of the nicest and most thorough doctors I have ever seen. The nurse taking my blood pressure was equally as nice. As previously mentioned pity all departments are not the same.

  2. Review titled Very difficult to make contact

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Judith Pandazis - Posted on 04 April 2024

I called the switchboard with an issue re an appointment. The operator told me that they would seek advice from a colleague - after 2/3 weeks still no reply/action. I called again re the same issue, three times in one day, and each time the phone rang out for a long time with no one picking-up. I rang the following day and asked for Clinic 9. The phone was answered by someone who went to find a specific phone number for me but after 5 minutes I hung-up believing that we may have been cut-off. I started again! This time the phone at Clinic 9 wasn't answered at all after waiting for 10 minutes.

  3. Review titled Communication support needs for autism abhorrent

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Andy - Posted on 08 March 2024

Was referred to Coventry hospital for neurology. Emailed the P A L S team several times to ask for assistance, explaining that I was autistic and requested some reasonable adjustments that they could provide to help with my communication / information needs. All emails failed to receive a response for a number of weeks. After several more attempts, finally I received an email informing me that the neurology department, who I required information from, would be in touch within 10 working days. Which was unacceptable and inefficient regardless of if a patient is autistic or not but for me who requires certainty, clarity and immediacy - this was not meeting my needs. I pointed this out and all emails were not responded to. The 10 working days came and went and no communication arrived from either P A L S or the neurology department. Therefore, I sent several more emails over many weeks and pointed out that reasonable adjustments should not be ignored. All emails ignored. This all happened over a period of about 2 months. I had been trying to access information, help and support for 2 months! Eventually I gave up and informed them that I would ask my doctor to refer me to another hospital as Coventry was completely inaccessible and shut off to communications with me, despite many, many emails sent over the course of 2 months. I informed them that I wished to be discharged due to my needs as an autistic patient being obscenely and blatantly ignored and that I would go to another hospital which was inclusive and supported equality and neurodiverse patients. Something Coventry hospital are a million miles away from ever doing. A few weeks later I received an appointment letter through the post but not one letter, but two! Two identical letters were sent to me and they say the N H S don't waste resources! This was after informing them that I had discharged myself and no longer wished to be seen there. On the appointment letter was an email address for outpatient appointments to use if patients needed to let the hospital know of a change in their circumstances. I emailed and it returned as undeliverable saying that the email address was no longer in use! This hospital and it's administration and management is akin to Billy Smarts and I would not choose to have any dealings with this hospital if you value your sanity or if you have a need to find out any information about your treatment. It is a circus. Given the N H S wastage on anything and everything these days completely unrelated to healthcare such as energy saving light bulbs to save the planet or endless inclusivity and diversity initiatives (which always seem to exclude autism), the only thing I am surprised they haven't done is built a 'big top' onto the main entrance building.

From my first visit to now, being discharged, the care I have received on ward 10 has been first class. Staff have been kind and professional and so helpful. I am extremely grateful for their friendly care. Thank you all.

  5. Review titled Children A&E waiting hours

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Isabel Montoro Rodriguez - Posted on 25 February 2024

My 2 years old son and I spent 11 hours at the a&e last Wednesday. We wait for 6 hours to be seen by a doctor and 5 hours for test and results. I have to say that the doctors and staff were excellent. However, it’s absolutely ridiculous to wait for 6 hours to be seen by a doctor. We arrived at 3:30pm and we left at 2am without the treatment because the pharmacy of the hospital was cloaed during the night!!!!! I have to come back at 8:30am to collect my son’s medication, just a few hours later. How is it possible that an University's Hospital with A&E - children and adults - hasn’t the pharmacy open 24 hours??? The medication wasn’t available in any other pharmacy, just at the hospital. Please, stop playing with our lives, the waiting hours and close a pharmacy hospital are wrong decisions and they must change!! The doctors and staff are also fed up of these ridiculous decisions.

  7. Review titled Good experience

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Although I had to wait almost a year for the procedure I must say that the service given at my appointment at St Cross was excellent. The team that looked after me were fantastic in all areas. I would like to say a special thank you to the theatre team who put me at complete ease during the procedure. A big thank you to each of you who looked after me.

  8. Review titled Crazy set up

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 24 January 2024

Arrived in A and E and my immediate thought was full house. A person's name is called to see whoever and then they're told to go back and sit in A and E. By that time more people have arrived meaning there becomes a shortage of seating. There's hardly much room for anyone in a wheelchair either. One thing I also observed that people accompany a patient were occupying a seat. Due to the environment being a rather small space all seating should go to the patient.

  9. Review titled A&E Waiting Time

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 09 December 2023

What hospital leaders think it is ok to have patients sat outside in ambulances for hours at a time! My elderly mother-in-law waited 5 hours in an ambulance before being allowed in! The ambulance crew were amazing, nothing was too much trouble. Whilst we were there there were 9 ambulances waiting, also doing the same thing! What a waste of resources no wonder response times of ambulances are so long, they’re all waiting outside your accident and emergency Department. This needs to stop, invest more money into care in the community, so beds are unblocked, allowing waiting lists to go down. Then maximising more time and money spend in our emergency How many emergency calls were not answered and lives lost while my family member was sat for 5 hours in an ambulance!!!!!

  10. Review titled Unorganised chaos

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 29 November 2023

My stay of 12hrs!! Waiting room has been made smaller.. why? No space for wheelchairs, not enough seating, people were made to stand for 12hrs or sit on the floor. No cleaners for the whole time, 60+ people using 2 toilets that were revolting. Cups/sick bowls under chairs. Sick on floors not cleaned up properly. Shockingly rude staff/nurses in the waiting/triage area who were Extremely unhelpful and lacked empathy towards the people sat in pain. Utterly Failed system they’re running. Zero welfare for the patients suffering in their care and unwilling to help when asked. What I witnessed was heartbreaking. As a human being choosing to do that job, Do better
