  2. Review titled Extremely reassuring

Rated 5 stars out of 5

As a claustrophobic, I have been absolutely terrified of the MRI scan I had to attend today. From the initial phone call to make the booking, through to the staff who carried out the procedure, I have been met with kindness, consideration and a genuine understanding of my fear. They have lots of coping mechanisms in place and support you every step of the way. We are all different but if I can do it, anyone can. Thank you so much to everyone who made this experience possible today.

  3. Review titled Very positive experience

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Visited Diagnostic endoscopy department at Derriford Hospital today. I was dreading the procedure after previous experiences. However the staff could not have been more helpful, professional and reassuring. The consultant who carried out the procedure was extremely professional and explained the procedure. I felt far more confident and relaxed. Aftercare also extremely good. Thanks you Derriford. Couldn’t ask for more. Keep up the good work 👍👍

  4. Review titled Everyone in A&E were on their game.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by IAN ELLICOTT - Posted on 15 March 2024

I attended A&E on the 9-3-24. My treatment required me to be in the department for 10.5 hrs, during the course of my treatment I was able to observe how the staff conducted themselves with all the patients, treating everyone equally. In my case my issues were noted and logged quickly, then moved onto the next stage, and then the next stage until a conclusion was reached, it gave me a understanding, of how the staff are unable to make decisions until the results are received, and then they can make a informed decision. Thanks to everyone involved with my treatment, the Antibiotics seem to be working, the pain has been greatly reduced.

  6. Review titled Amazing staff throughout

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Every person I saw during my visit to a&e were absolutely professional, efficient and utterly committed. An example to us all. From volunteers, to porters, nurses, consultants etc. I am sure all other derriford departments are the same. Thank you is not enough, alas that is the best I can do here. Please nhs managers ensure the nhs is properly funded. More staff / beds would surely alleviate the high waiting times.

  7. Review titled Wonderful kind service

I attended an appointment at the Primrose Breast Clinic yesterday (12th Feb) after being referred by my GP due to finding a small lump in my breast . From the receptionist , to the Consultant and radiographers and nurses , I was treated with respect , friendly and kind attitudes from all , for which I am grateful as I was nervous . Thankfully my results were favourable with nothing sinister to worry about but honestly , it was all made so much better by such lovely staff . I am also grateful that I attended this appointment only 8 days after seeing my GP , thank you to all concerned

  8. Review titled What A Team!

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Deb Dingle - Posted on 19 February 2024

I want to thank the team of A & E practitioners who cared for me on Saturday 10th. They were kind, patient and professional. Above all they included me in the process of assessment by explaining and discussing with me my presenting symptoms. They did this with understanding and without showing judgement or prejudice. The atmosphere in the busy unit was calm and quiet and controlled, in my opinion they were all doing a great job and with all the difficulties and negative reports we are bombarded with, these guys couldn't have done any more. No one likes to end up in A&E but you all made it a positive and empowering experience rather than a fearful one. My thanks to you all, including the guys from Bude ambulance service. Debs Dingle

  10. Review titled Brilliant practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I was seen in the early hours of the morning after vomiting excessively at home. The care I received was first class, I could not have asked for any better. All the staff were caring, explaining things and responding to any need e.g. fluids were given. The NHS receives much criticism, but much praise is needed instead. The staff must have been working several hours already , yet one would not have realised this, as each patient was seen as an individual and treated with respect and care by all who saw them. This was the NHS at its very best and all praise and thanks to the staff.
