    I am currently pregnant with my first child, and high risk. I first saw a local midwife at 16 weeks for the first check & booked an appointment back in for 29 weeks. I called up a few weeks later when other friends had scans booked in for 25 weeks for their first babe, and mine was never suggested to me by the midwife. When I called up to book this in at 24 weeks pregnant, they said they were too busy to get me in until 27 weeks, and in fact my 29 week appointment had never even been booked in. I attended my 27 weeks appointment at another site, and on my 29 week appointment I was running 5 minutes late. The midwife called me up to say she would have to cancel and couldn’t see me for 3 weeks as it was coming up to Christmas and too busy to get me in. I totally understand the NHS must be short staffed or particularly at this local hospital, but on my first baby and having had a number of growth scans to check the development of my baby, seeing a local midwife would have put my mind at ease and I feel like I’ve missed out on with this pregnancy. Please do better for other mums to be!

  2. Review titled Blood test

    Blood test nurse was rude. I didn't have the paperwork with me as there is a new system where the details of time and place are sent by text message. I never did get a blood test. I have rebooked at a hospital 25 minutes drive away in order to avoid being spoken to in that manner again.
