  1. Review titled I feel I have progressed better with the continued support

    by pagercb97 - Posted on 17 November 2023

All ATS staff have been brilliant, supportive good and easy to talk to, they appear non-judgemental. I feel I have progressed better with the continued support of ATS. I have never experienced this within any service before, I do feel they can be my extra voice when I am struggling.

  2. Review titled I feel like they've downplayed everything

by ACF - Posted on 14 November 2023

I feel like my records aren't accurate, so now the doctor is going to have a false impression of me. In my view, they’ve made it sound like I’m making it all up and just a hypochondriac looking for meds. I feel they’ve also just made it sound like my only issue is my family and the fact I don’t leave the house, rather than listening to me telling them what’s wrong. I feel like they’ve downplayed everything by saying it’s just depression. I don't think they understand that the way I’m feeling is not being caused by anything, I just feel this way.

  3. Review titled Working with ATS and the community forensic team

    by chack98 - Posted on 05 October 2023

I have recently been discharged from a medium secure hospital into the community after 2 and a half years. I have been supported both inside and outside of hospital. I am now working with ATS and the community forensic team on staying well and healthy. I have conditions I have to stick to which I am doing easily. I am being introduced to a variety of groups I can access and am getting help with budgeting and other day to day tasks.

Hi chack98 Firstly well done on your discharge you must have worked really hard to be discharged from medium secure to the community. I am really pleased to hear you are engaging so well in the community and becoming involved in groups, it really is positive and helps prevent that horrible feeling of becoming isolated. Budgeting in the current climate we are in is a challenge to everyone at the minute so its lovely to hear you are working on this too. Thankyou for this really positive feedback and I wish you all the best going forward. Nikki Service Manager

  4. Review titled Continuing MH support

    by uniformzd94 - Posted on 20 October 2023

I was subject to a VARM and it was recommended, amongst other things, that I have a CPN. A year later I met a CPN, who left the service. The incoming CPN also left the service. I moved to Bassetlaw and I'm still awaiting CPN support. I get bounced around between A&E, Crisis Team, and the LMHT. I had a long awaited appointment with a CPN (not the one I was expecting, and I was treated as dangerous) to find that they repeatedly called my autistic communication differences communication problems. In my experience, this service is not fit for neurodivergent service users.

Hello uniformzd94 Thank you for sharing your feedback regarding the Local Mental Health Team. I am sorry you are having these experiences with the LMHT. I understand how frustrating, disappointing and distressing it must be waiting for support from a clinician to then have to wait for a further time, for reasons which are not within your control. I would really like to look into the difficult experiences you are having with the LMHT and try to improve these. If you don't mind would you please contact me by e mail, my e mail address is tracey.houghton@nottshc.nhs.uk. Kind Regards Tracey Houghton Service Manager

  5. Review titled Such a fantastic course.

    by conditionerjk67 - Posted on 31 October 2023

Such a fantastic course. I have said to so many people, so many times how fab it is. And I know that if I'd had this experience earlier, I would have been able to stop myself being so poorly. I can tell during the week when I am using the skills learnt and I feel quite proud of myself!!

  7. Review titled I felt safe and happy in this group

    by caelumdf36 - Posted on 31 October 2023

Thank you Nottingham Recovery College for an amazing course. I felt that this course was neurodivergent friendly and affirming. I felt safe and happy in this group. The tutors were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. I really liked the diversity of experiences shared by other service users and tutors, we all built on each others learning. My favourite part of the course was the A-Z of self-care, and the 30 day calendar. They were really fun to fill in. I did find it difficult to concentrate when the tutors were reading out long bits of information and preferred it when we were doing a task and/or discussion. I wish the Recovery College was more accessible, this info/courses would help so many people and could even prevent so many people needing Community Mental Health Teams (CMHT). I would love to do longer courses too. Can't wait to continue on my Recovery College journey.

Dear caelumdf36 Wow thank you for your inspiring and reflective feedback, I’m so pleased you found the course amazing and I will pass your feedback on to the Peer Trainers who, as a team with lived experiences, some of which is neurodivergent, will be delighted to hear it. It’s so good to hear that you enjoyed and benefitted from the diversity within the class and the learning, and I also hope that you continue to benefit from the techniques and resources you have taken away. The fact that you felt safe is paramount to us here at the Recovery College as we strive to provide a safe environment for students to make the most of the learning journey with us. Thank you also for your reflections that the courses and information might help other people – this too is very inspiring to hear and we agree with you. We enjoy every opportunity to reach anyone who would find it helpful. We look forward to working alongside you on the continued Recovery College journey. Helen Brown, Recovery College Manager

  9. Review titled Helped family and patient

    by requirementte99 - Posted on 03 November 2023

Found it difficult before ATS. Couldn't get information from the hospital -hospitals are too far away and appear prison like. Daughter finds it helpful to go out with ATS and enjoys. Feels ATS do well - helped family and patient. Just struggle with hospital.

Hi requirementte99 Thank you for this really positive feedback for ATS We are fortunate in ATS to have a Carer Support Worker who can dedicate their time towards carers as you are the people who know and understands your loved ones better than anyone. We are currently working with the team on the Triangle of Care assessment which will help us improve our service further strengthening the alliance between carers, service users and our staff team and would really appreciate your input with this. If you are interested in being a part of this please speak to the carer support worker I look forward to hearing from you again soon Nikki Service Manager

Hello thubanjz75 Thank you for your very kind feedback about the interesting things you have learnt on the courses & the Peer Trainers. As their Manager you could say I am bias, but I agree with you they are very kind, compassionate thoughtful and patient I think it in part because of their own lived experience of Mental Health Challenges. To hear this shared by you, affirms what they are doing and how well they do it. I will be sharing your feedback with them when we next meet. I know they will value it and it will motivate and inspire them in their role. Best wishes Helen
