The wonderful nurse who booked my mum in to the Sandbourne Surgery ward was so lovely to her before her complex hip surgery. Her surgeon and anesthesiologist treated her with so much kindness. Everyone today was lovely and helped us relax. Thank you.

My Dad was let down badly by HDU. How can the NHS be made better if only good experiences are taken into account? My review is it about the NHS which is a fantastic service but this hospital is horrible

I have just had an overnight stay in the Acute medical unit and I was really impressed with the care of each member of the team . Especially the agency grade 6 that was running the unit .he could not do enough for his patients and went way above expectations to ensure each individual was treated with respect and felt valued. Thank you

  4. Review titled Brilliant, thorough, professional

Rated 4 stars out of 5

My elderly mother 90+years young attended A&E following a fall. Despite a lengthy wait, (not the fault of the Staff) the care she eventually received was excellent and very thorough. All the staff we came into contact with worked with total dedication when operating under the unrelenting pressure of a very busy department, never failing to treat my Mother with consideration and friendliness. Thank you.

  7. Review titled Kind and professional service

If at all possible, please can you pass on my thanks to the team who looked after me on Monday evening at Bournemouth Accident and Emergency. I arrived at 7pm and was seen by the triage nurse at around 9pm. My visit was due to a recent bad flare up of my Menieres disease. The triage nurse was very polite and helpful and the Dr I saw was lovely! He injected a bit of humour into the situation and was pro-active and professional. Unfortunately, I can't remember either of their names, however, I doubt you had many other Menieres cases between 7-10pm on Monday night! All in all, a very positive experience and I'm very grateful for the care I received.

Dear Bryony Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us and it is pleasing to hear you were seen relatively quickly and cared for well by the team on duty that evening. I do hope the injection of humour was helpful for you and wasn’t too painful 😊 We will certainly pass on your kind comments to the department who will share your comments with the staff members who looked after you. 8. Review titled A hospital to recommend

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Sam - Posted on 07 January 2024

Came in to a&e for my daughter who’d had a fall. All of the staff from reception to triage to xray etc where so helpful and kind and treated my daughter with care. She is nonverbal and so can make it a little more challenging but this didn’t stop from their fantastic care and quick diagnosis of an unfortunate bone break. We were only in for just over 2 hours and where seen quickly and efficiently. Thank you all so much for looking after us. Cannot thank the nhs service enough.

  9. Review titled Pros and cons

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Cystoscopy with general anaesthetic excellent all round. However at pre-admission, as I live some distance away, it was suggested that I could be early on the list for surgery, only a short procedure with not too much anaesthetic, therefore my friend could wait in the hospital rather than go home and come back. Arrived 12 noon, immediately taken through but my friend not permitted. First on list at 2pm, in recovery 3pm back on ward 3.45pm when I was told I would be monitored for the next 2hrs. This was not mentioned at any time previously or that my friend could not wait with me for the first 2hr. My friend waited over 4hrs unnecessarily but with the car park to pay for. She then went home, returning again at 8.30pm with an overnight bag, as I might have had to stay in.Bringing a bag just in case was never suggested either. Had Pre-admission not said that the whole experience would be short enough to wait in the hospital, my friend need not have wasted much of her day. This spoilt an otherwise good experience and I feel the Pre- admission policy should be reviewed for the sake of other patients.

Dear Jose Thank you for sharing your experience with us. While it is lovely to receive positive feedback from patients about things we do well, and we are pleased to hear your cystoscopy went well, it is also important to hear about the times when things don’t go quite as expected. We are sorry to hear that our communication was not as clear as it could have been leading to your friend spending unnecessary time and money hanging around waiting and you spending longer in the hospital than you had previously expected. We will pass on your feedback to the pre-admission team to review the information they provide, whether this is in written or verbal format. We are sorry that an otherwise positive procedure was tarnished by a lack of clear information. Regards Patient Experience Team

I'd like to say a massive big thank you all of the nurses, doctors and all the other staffs. They were wonderful with my mother in law, besides the language barrier. (because she doesn't speak English).
