  1. Review titled Professional, wonderful kind caring team Ward 17

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Mary Foster - Posted on 08 April 2024

I was frightened anxious panicked when I had a stroke 31/03/2024 I was taken to ward 17 and I thank God for every member of staff who came into contact with me. Their reassurance guidance and empathy was, I’m sure, my strength, and light in a very dark place. They ‘seen’ me, I was not just a ‘thing’ to be endured, Treated and got rid off. Every single member of the team was kind reached out to ‘me, mother scared ’ and gave me confidence and softened my fear. I was treated with professional immediate treatment, respect a beautiful smile and kindness by all staff. From my heart ‘Thank you, God Bless you all”

  2. Review titled Telephone contact

Rated 2 stars out of 5

It is impossible to make contact with imaging department by phone. I have spent days and dozens of call trying to contact them on the number on the letter. The phone just rings out and then cuts off. This not acceptable when patients have anxiety and require information.

  3. Review titled Disappointed as is always the case

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 08 March 2024

I always try to avoid the hospital as every time I’ve had to go in the past it’s nothing but waiting around for them to tell me something I already knew. First time ever I got a real bad ear infection. I tried home remedies and took various pain killers but nothing was working and the pain was so unbearable that I couldn’t sleep. The last time I experienced pain like this was when I dislocated my ankle. The pain in my ear was so extreme that I was crying and I never cry. At 3am I went to the hospital I told them the situation and how much pain I was in. Initially I was seen to straight away by a nurse. I basically explained to her what I told reception. I was then sent to the waiting area again and was told a doctor would come to see me. I waited almost two hours. It was not busy at all. It reached 6am and no one came so I left. I can understand if it was busy and if the waiting area was full but it wasn’t as more than half the seats were empty. As I explained to reception and the nurse I avoid hospitals but the fact that I went to the hospital at 3am and it was not busy at all and the extreme pain I was in and I was still waiting around for almost 3 hours. Every time I go to the hospital it’s the same. I’ve lost all confidence in the nhs and the hospital. It seems like it’s only worth going hospital if your dying. Disappointed is an understatement

  4. Review titled Rude uncaring staff

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 04 February 2024

I have cancer and I was brought in by ambulance as I had bad pain. I was left waiting in AE for a very long time. I asked two staff if they could help as I had a a tube in my arm and felt quite weak. They were very rude and dismissive. After waiting hours discharged myself. I am usually treated at a norfolk hospital and I thank goodness I am just visiting Luton and will not have to use you ever again. Politeness costs nothing and there were not that many people waiting.

  5. Review titled Brilliant staff and practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Fantastic services - Posted on 03 April 2024

My son had a tonsillectomy and adenoids removed. From start to finish, we had a brilliant experience. Yes of course you have to wait and the ENT clinic was busy once seen. We felt totally happy about the procedure going forward. The staff on the hedgehog ward absolutely amazing as were the surgeon and the anaesthetic team at a worrying time. They all made us feel reassured and happy. Procedure went well and after-care was brilliant. Different situation I have recently used the out of hours GP there was a wait but I’m not sure what some people want? We have free NHS care which we should be grateful for although you still have people moaning and shouting at staff which I find really ridiculous if you want a premium service pay to go privately we should be grateful for the staff who are just doing there job they all have a role to play and let’s face it if gps were pulling there weight more and not asking us to call 111 who direct you to A&E then the wait would be much shorter. Stock your medicine cupboard and only go to A&E if it’s an actual need. 🙂

  7. Review titled Very Professional Doctor

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by Dunstablian(John Ganges) - Posted on 02 January 2024

Visited 02/01/2024 was seen by a very professional doctor. Put me at ease immediately, carried out the procedure professionally, explaining exactly what he was going to do and was doing throughout. Very interesting conversation also, taking my mind off the procedure being performed. Would happily visit again and insist if i could on the same Doctor. Thank you sir.

  9. Review titled Excellent care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by A Parr - Posted on 29 January 2024

I had a general anaesthetic as part of my wisdom tooth removal. The anaesthetist was absolutely wonderful. I was nervous, he responded by being kind and compassionate. He took time to explain the process and what he was doing. He took extra care to keep me warm, which prevented my Reynards from affecting my circulation. My surgeon was excellent, he made me feel confortable with what he was going to do and I was far less nervous of the procedure because I had complete confidence in him. All of the nurses were kind and took excellent care of me in recovery. The hospital is the most efficient nhs hospital I have ever visited. I would recommend it to anyone needing surgery.
