  1. Review titled Excellent Experience

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Cannot fault the treatment that my 83 year old mother received having fallen and broken her hip. From paramedics, doctors in A&E to nurses on ward 12 and 11 and numerous physios. She spent a week from fall and full hip replacement operation to discharge. A really caring team of nurses on the ward. Thank you Manor Hospital Walsall for restoring my faith in the ability of the NHS to provide excellent service even when clearly stretched.

  2. Review titled exceptional care from all the staff on ward 4

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Paul Thatcher - Posted on 25 April 2024

To all the staff on Ward 4, especially the housekeeping, healthcare, nurses & my Tamla Motown friend arranging to get my home sorted & safely discharged home. Your empathy ( & the gazillion mugs of delicious tea) has made all the difference during a difficult time in my life. I hope I wasn’t too much of a pain in your behind. Thank you for everything, including putting up with me! Thank you for the outstanding care and support you all gave me during my stay at the Manor Hospital. I want to express my heartfelt appreciation to you all for going above & beyond. Your commitment to myself and other patients is truly admirable. From the bottom of my heart, I was truly blessed to have such a remarkable team taking amazing care of me. God bless you all, P J T, room 3. xxx

  3. Review titled 4 hours wait time with baby

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 07 March 2024

Iv been told that its normal to now wait 4 hours to be seen. My baby developed a temperature and so far 2 hours no one from the children wait area has been called. Zero priority for babies & children. One childs coughing incessantly. One is a tiny infant. What makes us a priority?? Whats your resourcing team identifying?

  5. Review titled Five hour wait rude uncaring reception staff

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 13 February 2024

After speaking to 111 and then a call from a doctor I was told to take my Husband to A and E as he was concerned he may have sepsis and an ambulance might take a while. On arrival we were triaged pretty quickly I told her my husband was feeling confused and not well obs done she said no it's not sepsis? Then we waited over 5 hours and still not been seen by a doctor, at 4 hours I asked reception staff how long it would be and they were just so indifferent, uncaring like I was a nuisance! Ridiculous wait time when 111 told us to come

Thank you for the feedback and I regret the delay in responding. This is not the standard we aspire to deliver and although waits in urgent care are often unavoidable the manner in which you were responded to was not what you should have experienced. We do take civility seriously and a have a programme of reinforcement in place in addition to the recent launch of our staff behavioural framework which clearly sets out the expected standards. 6. Review titled Poor-slow service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 09 February 2024

Attended an and e 5:30am. Relatively quiet could count 5 people in waiting area. It took 13 minutes to be seen by nurse who did nothing but take blood pressure and ask what medication was on. No details of what to do or what treatment would be needed. Just take a seat. Still sat waiting 1hour and 55 mins. Reception staff asked at 1 hour and 25 how long to be met with no long. Yet still waiting. Appalling service - new an and e built by nurses for nurses to aid efficiency is a joke. It is no better than the previous.

  7. Review titled Amazing staff under immense pressure.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 02 March 2024

I have a chronic autoimmune condition and as such, have experience with outpatients care at a number of nhs hospitals around the uk. The Manor is a clean, modern facility, where patients with complex needs can access virtually any specialist needed under one roof. Mental health services are right next door, at Dorothy Pattison Hospital and Sexual Health services are just across the street. The department I visit most often right now is Rheumatology. When a typo on my prescription (a medicine that requires close supervision) was detected, it immediately ceased until all the appropriate tests and conditions were met. To this end I took a tour of the hospital, sampling the wide range of disciplines and the proficiency of staff in each. I had x-rays and CAT scans in Radiology, where I've previously visited for ultrasound and MRI scans too. Dermatology is another haunt of mine. Here I've made use of purpose made uva and uvb vertical light therapy machines. I'm a frequent fliers with the phlebotomy department. Poor circulation means I'm quite a challenge but, they're always concerned about excessively sticking me with needles. How sweet! It's situated adjacent to the pathology laboratory, meaning blood results can be fast tracked, although I find they generally take no longer than 24 hours, to reach the requesting practitioner. Other departments and clinics I can vouch for include cardiology, the new, multi-million pound critical care unit, accident and emergency, general surgery, Neurology, podiatry and physiotherapy. All of the staff have been attentive, professional, taking the time to make sure I was fully informed and comfortable. Despite the apparently large ratio of patients to staff, I've never felt that I wasn't treated with consideration, never rushed or as if my concerns were unimportant. The principle complaint most often made of nhs services today is that of lengthy waiting periods. This is obviously due to underfunding, understaffing, excessive managerial positions and insufficient frontline staff. The staff that are expected to bear the burden of this patient load, are under massive pressure and vulnerable to burn-out. Nhs staff are some of the most skilled and proficient there are. Their expertise is legendary and has attracted doctors, nurses, anaesthetists, dentists, therapists and technicians (the list is endless) from all around the world to train here. The hospital is responsible for meeting the health needs of 270,000 people. I believe it's amazing value for money. But universal healthcare only works when a sense of societal and personal solidarity exists alongside it. I suggest that this solidarity is in fact, akin to the chicken and egg analogy...did the nhs exist because of our British esprit de corps? Or is the nhs responsible for the unity?

  9. Review titled Amazing care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by Char K - Posted on 17 December 2023

After being admitted to A&E by the ambulance, the care I received was amazing, I was extremely poorly and concerned my time had come, the A&E staff worked hard to reassure me, and ensure I got the very best of care, CT staff and Endoscopy staff made sure everything detail was explained and were a calming voice, when I was at my most vulnerable, I have the wonderful Ambulance team, and All staff that looked after me to thank, 3 bags of blood later I’m on the mend. I will be eternally grateful for the team around me, we are lucky to have you.
