  1. Review titled Wonderful

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I have just had a hip replacement . The care I received from start to finish was faultless. I was kept informed at every stage and felt that I mattered to everyone. The care on the Duke of Gloucester ward afterwards was outstanding. All those involved , doctors, nurses, porters, helpers, volunteers were professional, kind and caring. Nothing was too much trouble and the ward itself is very up to date. Thank you.

  3. Review titled So well-looked after...

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Devdassi Joya Ghosh - Posted on 10 June 2023

From the point of arriving at Duke of Gloucester Ward and being shown to my lovely little area (the nurse said "welcome") to the point of discharge, I was looked after with love and warmth. I was not in a cabin, I had a window by the bed in Bay 3, but I might as well have had a cabin, in terms of the space I had available to me. All staff at all levels were attentive, caring and efficient, and where there was a slight delay, due to work volume, staff were apologetic. Love the volunteer programme - they cover so many different aspects of the mental well-being of the patient, and you hear stories of "I couldn't wait to get home", but I have to be honest, I didn't feel like that at all. I'd go as far as to say that I really enjoyed my stay at RNOH, and am due for the second stint of my treatment programme next year which I'm now no longer dreading.

  4. Review titled What a great hospital

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Sue Halfpenny - Posted on 13 May 2023

Had a tendon transfer op with an overnight stay on London Irish Ward. I had a bed next to a window with a great view and everything and everyone was so kind and helpful. I have come back to the plaster theatre this week and I just want to say how brilliant everyone was there. Thank you to all who have looked after me

  5. Review titled Awful

Rated 1 star out of 5

As a cancer patient, following amputative surgery I am supposed to have check-ups every 3 months. This place has taken 9 months to offer an appointment, communication has been 1 text message, upon arrival today all my details were wrong, they initially had no idea who I was seeing then having identified the clinic sent me for an x-ray - minimum of 90 minutes wait for an x-ray by which time the clinic has ended. What a complete and utter joke and lack of care. I would rather take 2 days out and incur the costs of staying overnight and stick with Oxford Nuffield than visit this chaotic, disorganised shambles of a facility ever again.

  6. Review titled First time experience

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by Teen@stepney - Posted on 17 April 2023

It was my first time as a patient at this hospital and what a reassuring experience it was. From the surgeons to Nurses to cleaners, each were hard working, professional, yet down to earth with a good sense of humour. For all the other patience I met along my stay did not complain or moan, however demanding and testing it got for the staff. Anyone who has a future stay, I hope your experience is as assuring as mine was. Well done and thank you.

  8. Review titled Hard to reach

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 05 February 2023

Hard to reach the hospital from the station. A courtesy vehicle is available that taxis patients and staff from the station to the hospital, but it’s in such high demand that you can be waiting a long time in the cold for the next car. Also, people pile in and don’t respect the queueing - and the driver parks near the end of the queue rather than the front, so you could have been waiting longer than everyone at the front of the queue, but the driver pulls up at the other end, so the people waiting the least amount of time get on first without any shame. More cars needed especially in winter. And drivers who know where the front of the queue is.

Dear Sir or Madam. We are very sorry to hear that you are experiencing issues with the RNOH Courtesy Cars. It is a very popular and in-demand service. You may not be aware that the 324 bus, now stops at RNOH Main Gate on Brockley Hill. On arrival at Stanmore Station, you will need to cross to the bus stop on the other side of the London Road, where you will be able to pick up the bus. On your return, the 324 bus will drop you off on the station concourse. Information on this bus service can be found on the Transport for London website: https://tfl.gov.uk. Thank you. Communications team.

  9. Review titled Fantastic care and treatment

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Kirstin Oldfield - Posted on 30 December 2022

My 18yr old daughter was in for a hip replacement. I was allowed to stay in the room with her and we both recieved excellent care, even a hug for me at a very stressful time. All nurses worked were so kind even at the end of a long 12hr shift nothing was to much trouble. My daughter has been in and out of RNOH throughout her life. It is world class and would recommend to anyone.
