  1. Review titled Above and Beyond Expectations

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by S Clarke - Posted on 15 April 2024

I was refered to Rheumatology for a diagnosis of Raynauds and on my first appointment also had bursitis treated. In my follow up phone appointment I discussed ongoing fatigue as well as a flare up of Trigeminal Neuralgia, which was not being controlled or investigated by my GP. My consultant arranged for a reassuring MRI which reduced the stress that was preventing pain management to some degree. I have finally been discharged with a diagnosis of Chronic Fatigue. I cannot praise the team enough for their care and attention.

  4. Review titled worst a&e. don't come here

Rated 1 star out of 5

My brother has stage 4 lung cancer. He was rushed by ambulance with extreme stomach pain. It took them 2 hours for the nurses to see my brother and 5 for the doctors to actually come. After that, they left him wait apparently waiting on the medical team. In total so far he's waiting for 10 hours and no sign of anyone. Absolutely waste of NHS money. The only good thing about Barnet hospital A&E are the nurses which are very understaffed and overworked, and even though, they're on top of everything. Unfortunately I can't say the same about the doctors

  5. Review titled Useless

Rated 1 star out of 5

My appointment today was just waste of time. It lasted 2-3mins. Referral by GP after sudden tinnitus, full ear feeling and partial hearing loss. Nothing has been checked at my appointment except basic looking into my ears. Same as done at GP. No even blood pressure, blood samples or trying to find a cause of the incident etc. I was sent home due to my positive hearing test. Left with constant tinnitus and occasional dizziness and no treatment. Not even a small willingness to try and find a cause of it. Wasted referral.

13 year old daughter sat for 8 hours before being discharged with suspected period pains. Went to another hospital and immediately diagnosed with acute appendicitis and needed emergency operation.

  8. Review titled Amazing Staff

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Rachel - Posted on 17 April 2024

The staff in A & E Paramedic handover side were amazing. The nurse in charge was outstanding. She was calm, humorous , organised. I couldn’t believe how she worked so well under pressure. I didn’t get her name but she had black hair and wore black converse. Unfortunately no matter how well the team performed there was still que’s and que’s of paramedics waiting to handover patients as it was full. We clearly need more A & E hospitals!

  9. Review titled Blood Test Department

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 21 March 2024

The staff there are helpful and friendly, and, once I'd shown the receptionist my referral form, I was seen very quickly. I have one suggestion, though - there are plenty of chairs in the waiting room, but there was a long queue for checking in with the blood test reception (mainly due to a patient with a paperwork problem), but nowhere to sit in this queue -very uncomfortable for people with disabilities to stand and wait.

Dear reviewer, thank you for your review of your recent experience with our phlebotomy department. We're pleased to read that staff were friendly and helpful and that you were seen quickly. We also note your comment that whilst there are plenty of chairs in the waiting room, the queue was long and there was nowhere to sit whilst queuing. Management have advised that if you inform a member of staff on arrival that you are unable to queue, that they will take your paperwork and leave it at reception for you. You would just need to advise them of your appointment time when they take the paperwork from you. Our apologies if you tried this and no one was available to speak to help on this occasion. If you have any future problems with this, please do contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS). PALS can be contacted by email at bcfpals@nhs.net or telephone on 0208 216 4924. Kind regards, the patient experience team.

  10. Review titled Great Physiotherapist

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 21 March 2024

I saw the friendly physio 3 times following a wrist fracture. Each time the physio took various measurements to do with movement and strength, so I could see the progress I was making. The physio recommended several exercises and changed them each time I attended following the progress made. The physio's encouraging nature gave me the confidence to fit these exercises into my lifestyle.
