  1. Review titled Great Service & Experience

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 25 March 2024

I came to this hospital to have a consultation with Lower GI. The staff I encountered throughout my whole experience were all extremely friendly, polite, understanding and supportive at every opportunity, from receptionists, to nurses, doctors etc. They were also very happy to help, direct and were very reassuring because I was extremely anxious about my visit today and really unsure what to expect. They explained everything clearly and in detail, answered all my questions and gave me a good amount of time & patience to explain things. The staff took my concerns seriously and were thorough in their approach to my care. They discussed with me accommodations that might be needed due to my complex needs and the staff appeared to have a really good understanding & knowledge. I came away with a clear plan of what’s going to happen next, feeling hopeful and I definitely felt my visit was worthwhile. I felt I trusted the person coordinating my care and I’m grateful for the way I was treated on this occasion. I was cared for with the upmost dignity, respect, understanding at all times by the staff and I couldn’t have asked for anything more. The facilities were clean, tidy, comfortable and easy to navigate. There was a slight clinical / hospital smell in the toilets and around the hospital, but this wasn’t overpowering or unpleasant. I found the smell a little uncomfortable in the disabled toilet but there was ample facilities for me to use. My only slight concern might be that the chairs in the waiting room were only just comfortable for me and there didn’t appear to be any larger seats / seat pads or seats with risers for those with disabilities in the outpatient area we were asked to wait. I just wonder if these chairs would be accessible and comfortable for everyone visiting the hospital and perhaps larger size guests especially if they are waiting for any length of time. I can’t fault the care I received and am incredibly grateful, I don’t feel quite so nervous about returning again, you helped make something fairly unpleasant more bearable. Thank you so much.

  5. Review titled missing MRI scan results

    by composerem66 - Posted on 05 July 2023

At Christmas 2022 I had severe sciatic pain which was from a suspected herniated disc (I had had similar symptoms previously) which required previous surgery. I had to wait approx 3 months for a MRI scan and then a further 2 months for a NHS referral to a Spire Hospital to see a Consultant. When meeting the consultant he could not locate my MRI scan and said they could not find it on the NHS portal. I was informed that they would locate it and get back to me with a re- arranged appointment. 4 to 6 Weeks have now elapsed with me contacting his secretary a couple of time for an update. I am still currently waiting and its been over 6 months since the onset of pain. The only thing keeping me sane is the high number of painkillers I am currently taking Although not a youngster I do not want to spend the rest of my life taking addictive tablets to get through a day.
