I recently had a Cataract operation at Little Aston Spire Hospital , I was naturally worried about the Operation, but the professional and caring staff in the eye clinic made the whole procedure so much better than I had anticipated. Special thanks to the Discharge nurse.

  2. Review titled Excellent physio aftercare received for knee replacement

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Following my knee replacement I attended the knee clinic in the physio department for four weeks post op. It was invaluable to my recovery. Each week with a small group of other patients we went into the gym and faced a circuit of timed exercises . As I completed each task I was given individualise advice based on my ability and range of movement. Each task was explained clearly so I understood the benefit of the exercise. The two observing physios gave feedback and individualised each activity to make it more challenging if required. The positive feedback meant I knew I had completed the task correctly. This gave me the confidence to do some of them at home. My progress was really enhanced by attending these sessions. I would recommend the sessions to anyone who is offered a place to get this expert guidance and feedback. The team are friendly and welcoming, you can share progress, helpful tips and they stretch and challenge where needed too, so you realise you can do more than you think you are capable of! Thank you to the team who helped me during this recovery period. I am very grateful and 7 weeks on I am so pleased to have made such progress .

  3. Review titled Poor Service

I arranged an appointment, self funding, as I’m on very long list with NHS for an urgent ENT referral. I provided all relevant information requested of me. On attending appointment the Consultant had not got my records from my GP/hospital previously had investigations at, no reception on phone (due to location) so couldn’t bring up my results myself to show Consultant. A very quick 20 minutes later I came out non the wiser but have been billed the full hours charge for no advice/help. What a waste of time and money. Not recommended!

  5. Review titled First Class Treatment

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Having been advised the waiting time for a partial knee replacement via the NHS was in excess of 12months I opted to go private, and self fund. . I had a consultation with the chosen consultant in February 2023, and had the operation in Little Aston in July, From the time of admittance I was welcomed by the staff and treated professionally. Having met both the surgeon and anaesthetist, prior to the operation, to explain exactly what was going to happen, the treatment proceeded as planned. The operation went well and with the excellent care provided by the Nursing staff, I was in the hospital for just over 36 hours, before being discharged. Throughout I was given first class treatment, both pre and post operative, which included a programme of physiotherapy exercise to support recovery, in an all inclusive package. Whilst knee surgery is far from a painless procedures, the alternative of living with the daily pain of a defective knee, for those that can afford to do it, surgery at Little Aston is well worth considering.

  6. Review titled Average

My appointment was ok despite having to sit in a crowded waiting room in main reception and even more crowded waiting area in radiology where it said to wear face coverings and sit 2 metres apart but the receptionist was sorting people next to each other, I actually stood for some of my appointment waiting. A lot of my details were incorrect which the receptionist said they would correct but didn’t. The finance department however do not respond at all, I have been trying for months to get hold of them and nothing not sure why they make everything so stressful for people I have asked for their complaints procedure now see if that gets a response from them, I wouldn’t book an appointment at this hospital again. The consultant was lovely and knowledgeable but the issues I had took over that
