  1. Review titled Diabolical practice

Rated 1 star out of 5

by George Love - Posted on 25 January 2024

I used to praise this practice but not anymore. I am an 89 yr old who had an appointment for the Doctor to sign my proof of life certificate which I have to send to Australia every year in order to receive my pension. I sat in the surgery 2 hours and,20 mins as the Dr was unsure what to do. The way I was treated was disgusting and another gentleman told me that it isn't the practice to sign these forms as more. It took them 2 hrs and 20 mins to tell me that. Meanwhile I am stressed to the limit and in the end they told me yes they could sign it but it would cost me ,£30.00. amazing what Money can do. In principal I wouldn't pay it and asked for my form back. Is this how they treat their patients. Obviously I am changing my surgery so they are the ones missing out as I amp prescribed a great deal of meds every day. My name is supplied.

  2. Review titled Awful experience registering.

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Zoe Seekings - Posted on 12 January 2024

Have set foot in this practise 3 times. 1st time was to register myself and my newborn. Was told to fill in forms and bring red baby book. 2nd time was told I needed birth certificate. 3rd time the receptionist didn't take any info from birth certificate and refused to look at red book. Now had a call to say I need to go back in with red book and to fill in form we already did twice. Will be moving my whole family away from this practise as soon as I can. Receptionists are clearly not trained. My partner also has received conflicting info on wether he can book an appointment the next day. It depends on the receptionist. Don't waste your time.

  3. Review titled Terrible practice

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 05 December 2023

Hae had issues everytime i've attempted to make an appointment over the last 3 years - the most recent being that i didn't receive my call back off the doctor, i called again and waited another 40 mins on hold to speak to someone who confirmed the number i needed to be contacted on only to find out that they then rang my old work number which was suppose to be deleted on my records. There's terrible communication between reception staff and doctors and it appears that nobody bothers to read the notes for requests made by the patient. Call waiting times are awful and nothing has improved even though they said it would 12 months ago.

  4. Review titled Outstanding care from dementia nurse

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 09 August 2023

Had a review of my fathers dementia care - the nurse was so caring and professional and took every care to ensure my fathers needs were looked after and that I as a carer had all the support required. She had all the answers to all my questions and provided total support to both my father and me. She is a credit to the NHS and my thanks and that of all my family go out to her for being so wonderful.

  5. Review titled Poor medical centre experience

    by Kath66 - Posted on 12 June 2023

I found the nurse to be rude and unhelpful and felt they made me out to be an idiot!! And gave me a hard time getting a sick note and the fact my employer can’t give me alternative work. Also I find the reception staff are hopeless and don’t seem to know what they are doing!

  6. Review titled Bad practice

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Kath - Posted on 20 December 2022

Called surgery put on hold Was given option of getting a call back when my turn came Assured I wouldn’t lose place in queue 2 hours later no call back Called again and got straight through Was given a phone appointment with Nurse Practitioner for next day 50 minutes after expected call I phoned to say I hadn’t had call Only to be told they had changed the appointment to 5 hours later ! I had not received any correspondence to inform me of this change All it took was a simple txt ! I have always understood that things happen to change plans/appointments However surely it is good manners to inform the people concerned when this happens ?

  7. Review titled Awful Service, Rude Staff

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 23 November 2022

I was told I was late for an appointment with Nurse 20 mins as but I was advised my appointment time 12:30 when actually it was 12. The nurse was very rude and said no way she will see me as I was over 20 mins late I tried to explain the nurse and receptionist that I was told my appointment is at 12:30 over the phone which is what I had added in my phone. I also advised that i came all the way from work to attend this appointment as i this was cancelled 2 times before. The both were very rude and grumpy and wouldn't do anything. Then the nurse said she id on holiday for 2 weeks and would have any appointment until Mid Dec. This is how much NHS nurses care about patience. She was Sexual clinic Nurse that came to the GP surgery. I am getting very disappointed with Penn Surgery and strongly looking to change to others. They always make you wait long at the reception as the staff never have any clue what they doing and take longer to serve, there auto check in service hasn't been working for years which they don't bother fixing. Today I rang for emergency appointment at 8:45 they told me nothing available, I was on the phone early but someone put the phone down on me. Spoke to Staff member called Navneet and begged for a call with doctor she was so rude and didn't bother helping. Honestly this surgery is now employing anyone without any customer service skills. I have been coming to this surgery for years but keep going downhill rather than imporving.

  8. Review titled Great nurse team

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 23 November 2022

Great team of nurses, had to go 6times recently. All nurses were so kind, caring and friendly. However the reception system is flawed as if there’s a queue it’s hard to let them know you arrived therefore could miss your appointment. Really need more staff or the machines back.

  9. Review titled Still no death certificate after 15 days

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 12 October 2022

Despite spending an hour in the surgery to yet again chase my fathers death certificate it is still not with the registrars. I have spent countless hours waiting to speak to someone and then regaling them with the same story. They had sent it to the wrong email address. Then they reassured me it had been sent to the correct email, but no that would be too difficult a task. I just hope no one else has to go through this. One would think that this should be a simple, straightforward procedure.

  10. Review titled 10 day wait for death certificate

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 10 October 2022

I am saddened to have to leave a bad review as I’ve always received good care at the practice. My dad died on September 27th. As the last doctor to see him was from a separate team he had to sign off the death certificate. It took around 8 phone calls and a trip to the surgery to be told that doctor was off on annual leave. I have just phoned the surgery after 13 days when I was told it would be signed and I now have to wait until the doctor has finished all his tasks for the day. This is making what is already an upsetting time even more distressing. I am in limbo as I can’t register the death without the signature, go through probate or arrange a send off.
