    I wish to commend Birchington Medical Centre. I received a call concerning my medical positioning after tests had been conducted. I was provided with an informed breakdown of my blood pressure, kidney and liver functions and a way forward to lower my blood pressure. Thank you Birchington Medical Centre.

    The ladies were very nice but I am afraid it was a waste of their time as I had been booked in too early for my second shingles jab so will return at later date.

    Being seen by an actual trained and qualified doctor. Not a nurse or paramedic...hence a quick and accurate diagnosis and treatment...

    I was able to have a face to face appt with a nurse practitioner and a doctor within a few days when I really felt unwell.

    Friendly helpful receptionist, really professional GP who listened to my concerns and advised me on appropriate treatments and tests that needed to be done, I am extremely impressed how quickly it was dealt with.

    Consultation was on time and the doctor spoke very clearly and listened to what I had to say. I was not rushed.

    Firstly access - several times when entering I have had to give my full name and say why I am attending. Often it is with a queue of people close by when really there should be a system that enables me to check in without having to reveal in front of other (not working there) my personal information. Second - I was booked for an appointment that was all about a repeat of my presscription, however it was booked at a time when no doctor was there to sign it off. This was inefficient and unnecessary. I was not made aware of this and would have arranged an alternative time to come had this been highlighted. Thirdly I then arranged to come back to pick up my prescription when I was informed the notes on the system had not been left to do this and even though I stated it was the case it was said I had to wait for the person who saw me to come back in the next day to verify it and then wait again for sign off. Fourth issue - I asked for a call first thing so I could arrange my day and ensure my prescription was then made available, this did not happen I called and found out it was being processed and should be available later. I was then called after lunch to say it would now be ready to collect. Fifth I went in to collect my prescription it was not ready. I had to wait, the whole prescription was not available and I have to go back again. The pharmacist said this happens often that the doctors reception informs people prescriptions are ready and not leaving enough time for them ti be proecessed. This is my second time the communications between different personnel has resulted in delays and confusion. On ny previous visit it took 3 hours to sort getting a prescription as what was prescribed was not available to the pharmacy, I was then sent back to the doctor after seeing a nurse to say what had been prescribed was not suitable and then had to go back to the nurse and back to the pharmacy.
