Needed an emergency appointment. Called at 8am. Was on hold for less than a minute. Got an appointment same day. Turned up at surgery which was clean and efficient. Was seen on time. Doctor was great. Top marks all round.

I have been registered at the practice for a few years now and have always had amazing service. Every time I call, I get through to a receptionist very quickly and I’m always offered an appointment quickly. The receptionists are friendly and each doctor I have seen has been incredibly helpful and empathic. I have felt so well looked after by this surgery!

Review titled My first visit

This was my first visit to the practice as I have just moved to the area. I rang this afternoon to see a doctor about getting my prescriptions, and managed to see one a couple of hours later, much to my surprise. We went through my ailments and was asked to book in for blood tests and managed to get them all done a couple of hours later. I must say that the doctor was above and beyond in seeing to my needs, as was the nurse who took my bloods and also gave me a pneumonia vaccination and booked me in for my COPD. The are all so friendly and have your best interests at hand and they listen to you. So from the medical staff to those on reception, I give a big thank you, you all deserve more in my opinion. From booking appointments, being greeted and helped by the team on reception to the doctors, nurses and healthcare practitioners, I have always had positive experiences. Most recently, I had a health check with the lovely health care practitioner who was not only professional and thorough, but also understanding, knowledgable and really reassuring. I was able to get an evening appointment that fitted around my working pattern. I left the surgery feeling heard and armed with knowlege and information to ensure I continue to live a healthy lifestyle.

Review titled How an asthma nurse educated me

Having my first asthma attack recently in the doctor's surgery had left me feeling scared ,sick and very tired. I had never experienced anything like this before. The nurse who attended me at this time was really good. She brought in the help of the doctor. Thank you so very much. I realised my asthma was triggered because I had not been well for some weeks and there appeared to have been a problem with whom I was supposed to see. A recent appointment was booked and I saw a nurse at the end of March. I just want to say to her thank you, thank you, thank you. My husband and I walked away feeling educated regarding this medical problem. We have heard how severe asthma can be but did not understand much more. Being diagnosed is now an eye opener. She demonstrated on how to use the asthma apparatus. Showed the differences in changes of the lungs etc. I don’t know everything. But we now understand more. I am aware that their jobs are not easy, times have changed immensely, but it’s nice to know that there are still good people who will still take the time to be kind, patience, compassion and help you to understand the life changing situation we’re faced with. Review titled Trying to get in touch with a GP

Monday I wake up with a sore throat. Check my tonsils, I see pus, I have fever so I call the practice for help. They say they will call me back, which they do. They prescribe penicillin. Wednesday. No fever but more pain. More pus. I call them, I explain this, they extend the course for another 3 days (from 8 to 10 days). I ask whether I should get stronger antibiotics, they say what I am having it is ok. Friday. Pain is bad. Worse if anything. I can’t speak, talk and barely eat or drink. I call them again asking for help. I feel the receptionist barely cares and quickly closes the phone before saying that the GP will call me. The GP does not call me back. I am appalled. I am in incredible pain and no one even tells me to go to the practice to be physically seen. I am crying from the pain and I feel like no one cares, especially not the receptionist who picked up the phone. This is enough. Enough. People are literally sick and in pain and I feel like you keep pushing them away. All I want is to see a decent doctor and get treated for something that should have been cured in 3-4 days with the right antibiotics. I do not expect this treatment. I am still really sick and even considering going to A&E because I did not receive adequate care from my GP.
