the surgery has served me and my family exceptionally well since we moved to the area 5 years ago. Never had problems getting an apt, the reception staff are very kind and helpful and every doctor and nurse i have seen has been wonderful, kind and attentive: they listen sensitively and address your concerns, they check and refer as necessary- they always take every care to give the best service and follow up apts,-never come across a doctor at this surgery who has been unprofessional; who hasn’t listened to who has not treated us with respect and kindness. there is no rush to get u out the door- the doctors make u feel like u are important. The nurse who did the cervical smear was the best- she gave great advice around women’s health and put me at ease. she was warm and friendly and no question was ever too many- she made the experience pleasant and reassured me every step of the way. she took away the anxieties and was patient and exceptionally kind. thank you for providing myself and my family with the best healthcare.

Doctors feedback Hi Just wanted to write / complain about the service received by the Buckhurst Way Hub by a patient of the River Surgery. I have had 2 experiences last 4 weeks both ending with multiple calls back to River Surgery who I will say have been excellent in making good the circumstances. The first appointment I got the call spoke to a very helpful and knowledgeable paramedic. My symptoms were too high and an appointment face to face was required for following day. No time given as appointments given out via text message. Checked the number and all ok. Called Buckhurst Way Hub no answer to phones. Call River Surgery at 330pm and they say my appointment was at 145pm no text or call so no doctor seen. Second appointment got the call at said time detailed consultation that concluded with a course of antibiotics being prescribed. Text to be sent when prescription ready to be collected from appointed pharmacy. No text received and no prescription received at pharmacy. Nature of illness heavy chest infection for an asthmatic diabetic and in panic mode that I would not get tablets in time as pharmacy closes at 6pm. Once again spoke to River Surgery who sent through the prescription. Just wanted to write so you can ascertain what is going wrong with Hub support service Regards Mr G

This has been my local surgery for 10 years, have always experienced fantastic service, from the receptionist, nurses or doctors, a big thank you for all your help and understanding.

Had another appointment this week. Face to face. Not rushed at all, helpful and felt listened to. The surgery was calm and everyone was happy to help. I have a couple of follow up actions arising from the appointment and these will be easy to complete via the text message link sent. Quick and simple. Thank you River Surgery again.

10 April 2023 Had another good experience with the River Surgery people - front of house team and the regular locum I saw on 06 April 2023. Everyone was helpful and kind. I don't think people realise the level of demand the River Surgery staff face day in and day out - and Covid made things so much worse in every way especially with all the catch up and unmet need they are still facing and having to deal with calmly and patiently. Thank you all again.

I have been in the practice more than usual recently. No unhappy patients but not many positive reviews because people are satisfied. The team here - everyone (no-one excluded) continuing to do a brilliant job in very difficult circumstances in the face of generally high expectations. The whole team do their utmost to be helpful, understanding and accommodating. Thank you everyone.

I have recently had two really high quality, patient-centred experiences with The River Surgery. Both the GPs with whom I had consultations were exceptionally helpful and demonstrated well-grounded, human empathy as well as sound clinical knowledge. Added to this, the admin/reception team were excellent at front of house and first contact. Really great customer care all round. Thank you to the whole River Surgery team. It's sad that reviews are rarely left by people who are satisfied.
