  1. Review titled Waste of time

Rated 1 star out of 5

by DAVID CATCHPOLE - Posted on 08 February 2024

Desperate to have a consultation with a senior gp regarding my wife’s “likely Neurodegenerative Disorder”. She has been in and out of Hospital on several occasions during the last two years and I need to discuss what I can do to avoid her having lengthy Hospital stays in the future. Sequence of Events in brief. 1. Phoned Fri. 19-01-24. First in queue for 30 mins. Request appointment with Lead gp next week. Told to call on Monday! 2. Called Monday 8.00, Requested appointment with Lead gp, answer “not in today”, Next Senior gp “not in today”. Ask for most senior Dr available and explained our requirement, answer “someone will call sometime today”. 3. 3 to 4 hours later received call from “New junior gp”, explained situation and she agreed to see us at 4.00pm. 4. 4.20pm explained to Dr our general situation homing in on lack of appetite and thirst, coupled with sickness and constipation. We told Dr of some sickness tablets that my wife was given following one of the stays in hospital which seem to be helping so Dr suggested I inform the surgery of what they were called, and would set them up on wife’s regular prescription list. We attempted to discuss some of our other concerns, but we were told that we had already overrun our 10 minutes appointment! 5. I put a request on wife’s Online Medication Order, stating the name of the sickness tablets with reference to the Dr. 6. Wed. 24 Jan. Wife receives text telling her to phone the Surgery to make a tel. appointment with Pharmacist to discuss Sickness Tablets. 7. Fri. 26. Wife phoned the Surgery as told, after 45min. wait she explained the situation to your cn who then spoke to the Pharmacist and said he would call her on 07-02-24. 8. 31st Jan. Wife ran out of Sickness Tablets and this being her first day without taking one wife was violently sick! 3.30pm, tried to call doctors, but “medication management” is 10am to 12am only. I tried the general enquiries number and was 7th in the queue so gave up. 9. 1st Feb. Sick again! Waited long enough to speak to cn and got prescription sorted! After hours of waiting to get through on the phone and waiting for indiscriminate calls, spread over nearly two weeks, we have 1 of many issues sorted temporarily! Overall, this episode has caused us both an enormous amount of stress, anxiety and anger, with a distinct feeling that a practice that I have been with for 76 years has abandoned me at our time of need. There is much more that I would like to say about a system and service which is far from patient friendly, wasting time within the Practice and far more time for the patients. This whole communication system seems to be set up for the gp's convenience without any consideration for patient’s time and sanity. A whole day can be disrupted for a measly 10 minute with a gp. I realise that the nhs is a sinking ship and I admire all employees who try to keep it afloat but after paying into it for 50 years, we think that we deserve better that this!!!!

  2. Review titled Excellent care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 11 January 2024

I’ve been seen by the nursing team for 18 months. They have done above and beyond to help with my issue. Trying every treatment on offer to them and getting advice from other specialists. They have supported me not only with my issue but also emotionally in what has been a relentless and painful time. Unfortunately I have to move on to another area of care now but am eternally grateful for everything the nursing team have done for me as well as the GP and reception staff who have assisted over the last 18 months.

  4. Review titled New Telephone System

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Paul - Posted on 18 October 2023

I just want to say how impressed I am with your new telephone system. The call back facility means that contact with you is considerably less stressful than previously. Now, there is no need to spend a lot of time re-dialling before getting a ringing tone and then even more time waiting to get to the top of the queue. Your operatives are as helpful and considerate as ever. This new system certainly gets a 10 out of 10 from me. Thank you.

Very quick and pain free. Husband was reluctant to have his jabs, nurse kindly went into car park and talked him into having them. Great service in my opinion.

Dear Patient Thank you very much for taking the time to give us such positive feedback we are continually looking to improve our service to serve you better. We know that at times we do not meet our high standards, however we are constantly trying to improve both the experience and outcomes for our patients and for our tireless teams in the constraints we work within the NHS. We would be ever so grateful if you could contact us directly for ideas on how we can improve how we help support you and our wider community in most need. You may also wish to consider joining our Patient Participation Group. We are constantly striving to improve and part of this will involve introducing digital ways to provide a safe and personalised service to our patients based on need and would love your help in in providing as many appointments as possible. Again thank you for the kind words it means a lot to our hard working and sometimes tired teams as we try to do our best to be a compassionate and efficient service to all our patients and the communities we serve. 8. Review titled Covid and Flu Vaccinations

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Paul - Posted on 18 October 2023

Very smooth throughout. Booking was easy. On attending the clinic there was minimal delay and the clinician dealt with both my wife and myself at the same time. Neither of us had any after effects other than the usual soreness in the arms for a few days.
