Mobility and falls services - Falls Prevention Service

This service is managed by Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust

Please visit our service page - for contact details and more information.

We are a prevention and assessment service for anyone at risk of falling, or who has fallen. These risks include anyone with a history of falls or who is at risk of falling but without a falls history. We also accept referrals from people with low bone density or a family history of osteoporotic fracture.

You must be able to travel to the location of the falls group, walk 50 yards and stand independently for two minutes with or without aids, cognitively able to follow instruction and have the consent of your GP or be medically fit to attend the group.

We assess you and then we create a set of goals to monitor your strength, balance and fear of falling. Anyone who is referred needs to take part in a pre-arranged 12-week course, which includes exercise and education in falls-related topics. These courses are held in a community setting.
