Overview

We pride ourselves in giving an efficient and honest service. We have an extremely friendly team that endeavours to meet the needs of our local population.

Royal Pharmacy provides a number of services that includes New Medicines Service, Medicines Use Reviews, Flu vaccinations, Travel Health, Weight Management Programme, Smoking Cessation, Sexual Health and Destruction of returned Medicines.

There is no need to make an appointment. You are welcome to come and see us at Royal Pharmacy and speak to a Pharmacist who is happy to give you impartial and confidential advice. The pharmacy has a consultation room for those wishing to speak in private. We are always happy to take time to share our professional knowledge and experience, or just to reassure and if required will recommend when you should see your Doctor.

Every year we undertake an annual patient survey to enable our patients to provide valuable feedback on the services that we provide. The survey, undertaken by all community pharmacies in England, is called the Community Pharmacy Patient Questionnaire. The report of our survey results allows us to identify the areas where we are performing most strongly, the areas for improvement and the actions required to address issues raised by respondents. Our results for 2018/19 are provided here.

Electronic Prescription Service

This pharmacy offers the Electronic Prescription Service, which allows you to choose or “nominate” a pharmacy to get your medicines or appliances from. Your GP then sends your prescription electronically to the place you have nominated, this means:

  • If you collect your repeat prescriptions from your GP you will not have to visit your GP practice to pick up your paper prescription, saving you time.
  • You will have more choice about where to get your medicines from because they can be collected from a pharmacy near to where you live, work or shop.
  • You may not have to wait as long at the pharmacy as your repeat prescriptions could be prepared before you arrive.
