The Colorectal and Upper GI Surgery services are part of the Digestive Diseases Service.

The Digestive Diseases service at HEY comprises over 20 consultants with a broad range of experiences and areas of interest in digestive diseases. Between Castle Hill Hospital and Hull Royal Infirmary there are seven wards dedicated primarily to patients with digestive diseases.

Patients entering into the digestive diseases service will be able to access a range of medical and surgical management options for their condition, including cancer services, diagnostic services, general surgery, HPB surgery and Upper GI surgery, depending upon what is most clinically appropriate.

The Digestive Diseases service runs an elective service 5 days a week and an emergency service at all times. On-call service is also provided for specialist knowledge 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
