The trust has paid for bedside TV (Hospedia). Mobile phones are permitted in specific areas and the trust meets same-sex guidelines.  In ITU and HDU critically ill male and female patients are nursed with privacy curtains.  One parent is able to stay with children on the paediatric ward (camp beds available)

The Royal runs its own catering outlets - with several on site (including one in partnership with the WRVS) offering a range of hot and cold snacks and meals.  All food is home-cooked and sourced from local suppliers (50 mile radius).
The on-site pharmacy deals with in-patient and out-patient prescriptions; as well as GP prescriptions (for staff and members of the public).  The Pharmacy@theRoyal shop offers everyday medicines - and is available for staff, patients and the general public.
