Health Visitor service - worse then useless

I also wish I could give zero stars - every time I try to make a health visitor appointment for my baby I'm told there are no appointments available or if I'm offered one it is three-four weeks away which isn't much use when my baby needs to be seen now. The health visitors are meant to be the first port of call but I find my GP (not part of this trust) far more easier to access which is saying something! The other 'excuse' for not providing an appointment is that they are 'redesigning' services. This trust leaves some of the most vulnerable members of our society neglected by services that are freely offered in other parts of London and the UK. If you are able to, exercise your right of patient choice and go elsewhere.

Thank you for taking the trouble to bring this matter to our attention. I was sorry to read of your experience and for the upset this has caused you. The service offers non-urgent support for your baby but if urgent support is needed then contacting your GP,NHS 111 or urgent care centre would be best. We would like the opportunity to look into this further so I would ask that you please contact our Patient Advice Liaison Service (PALS) on freephone 0800 953 0363, or via confidential email at pals.hrch@nhs.net

In the meantime I have shared your feedback with colleagues from the health visiting team so they may look into the concerns you raise.
