About Our Services

Who we are

NHS Milton Keynes CCG commissions healthcare services on behalf of the population of Milton Keynes. Commissioning involves planning, buying and monitoring healthcare services. We are a membership organisation made up of all 27 GP practices in Milton Keynes. We have a Board, made up of both clinical and executive expertise. We also have three lay members - one for governance, one for patient and public involvement and one for co-commissioning. The Board meets in pubic every other month and you are welcome to attend. We are based at Sherwood Place in Bletchley.

What we do

We commission providers such as hospitals and community clinics to provide healthcare services for approximately 260,000 people living in MK. We currently have a model that means each of our GP practices belongs to one of four 'neighbourhoods' - North, South, East and West. Each neighbourhood has a clinical lead who works very closely with the CCG.

We don't work alone. We work with parters such as Milton Keynes Council, Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Voluntary Services, GPs and Healthwatch, to ensure we are meeting the needs of local people. We are also working more closely with partners across Luton and Bedfordshire as we develop our Sustainability and Transformation Partnership (STP).
