Access to General Practice - evening and weekend appointments available. Patients registered at this practice can obtain early morning, late evening and weekend appointments. This is called the South Tyneside Extended Primary Care Services (STEPS). Appointments will either take place at this practice or at another NHS setting nearby - Imeary Street, Farnham Medical Centre, Marsden Road Health Centre, Trinity Riverside, Flagg Court, Talbot Road Medical Centre, Whitburn Surgery, The Glen and Victoria Road Medical Centre. To find out more, please ask the receptionist or visit www.healthcollaboration.co.uk. You MUST book ahead via your practice either in person or by phone. All routine appointments with a GP, Nurse or Health Care Professional can be accomodated. Healthcare staff who see and treat you may be from another location and a different local practice. We are unable to take blood samples at these appointments or provide health treatment such as vaccines for foreign travel, where a payment would normally be required. Out of hours

When a patient contacts the practice outside its opening hours, the telephone answer machine will give the patient advice on who to contact: NHS 111 for medical assistance if it cannot wait until the practice reopens, or to dial 999 in a medical emergency. Improving access to general practice: evening and weekend appointments now available Patients who are registered at this practice can now book an appointment to see a GP or nurse on weekday evenings (after 6.30pm) or at the weekends (on Saturday and Sunday).
