You can now see a GP or other healthcare professional during:
- weekday evenings between 6.30pm and 8.00pm
- Saturdays and Sundays
Appointments may be available before 6.30pm in some areas.
To book an appointment, talk to your GP practice or visit their website. You may be able to get an appointment on the same day if required.
Depending on your area, you may be offered an appointment at one of these locations:
- your GP practice
- another local GP practice
- another local NHS service - such as a General Practice Hub
Access to General Practice - evening and weekend appointments available. Patients registered at this practice can obtain early morning, late evening and weekend appointments. This is called the South Tyneside Extended Primary Care Services (STEPS). Appointments will either take place at this practice or at another NHS setting nearby - Imeary Street, Farnham Medical Centre, Marsden Road Health Centre, Trinity Riverside, Flagg Court, Talbot Road Medical Centre, Whitburn Surgery, The Glen and Victoria Road Medical Centre. All routine appointments with a GP, Nurse or Health Care Professional can be accomodated. Healthcare staff who see and treat you may be from another location and a different local practice. We are unable to take blood samples at these appointments or provide health treatment such as vaccines for foreign travel, where a payment would normally be required.
