Reason for Appointment

Wtg Room C.jpg

When you ring for an appointment the receptionist may ask you what the problem is? The receptionist is not trying to be awkward or nosy but merely trying to find out what the most appropriate course of action to take would be to deal with your telephone call most efficiently. On many occasions we find that appointments are booked with a doctor when a simple telephone call from a doctor would be more suitable or an appointment with either the practice nurse or health care assistant would be more appropriate. We believe this could be due to lack of information received at the first point of contact and are trying to avoid unnecessary use of doctors appointments and also to minimise inconvenience to you, our patients. We understand that not all patients will feel comfortable discussing issues with a receptionist and if you do not wish to do so that is fine.
