Parking at South Bar House

Neither Cox & Robinson nor Horsefair or West Bar Surgeries receive any income from the changes to the car parking at South Bar House. We have introduced these changes to ensure that our patients visiting South Bar House will have sufficient parking.

Since moving to South Bar in 2009 both surgeries and the pharmacy have received numerous complaints about the size and availability of the car parks at South Bar House. There is nothing that we can do about the size but we have known for some time that the availability of parking spaces for patients visiting the South Bar House and clinicians working out of the two surgeries has been reduced, very significantly, due to both the staff car park and the patient car park being systematically abused by people who are not visiting either the pharmacy or the surgeries.

We want our car parks to be available to our patients, free of charge, whilst they are visiting the pharmacy and/or the surgeries.

If you are visiting South Bar House you have 30 minutes to get from the car park to a registration machine in either Cox & Robinsons, Horsefair Surgery or West Bar Surgery.

When you enter your Vehicle Registration Number (VRN), you will have 90 minutes from the time you press ‘enter’. If, after a time – let’s say one hour - you are still waiting, you can put your number VRN in again and you will have another 90 minutes.

If you have genuine reason for visiting  South Bar House and are only parking in the car parks while you visit your surgery or pharmacy you have no reason to worry about these changes. Just remember to enter your VRN when you arrive.

Many patients have noticed that since the parking restrictions were introduced, it has become much easier for patients to park.

More on how we perform

We are currently accepting new patients

Please register during reception hours 08:00 - 18:30. Patients registered with other Banbury surgeries but wishing to transfer to Horsefair Surgery and vice versa, should write to Di Kennard giving their reasons for wishing to transfer in/out. transferring to another Banbury Cluster Practice puts enormous strain on each practice, therefore we are discouraging inter-practice transfers. We recommend patients think very carefully before requesting to switch GP surgery within the same town.
