Prescription Requests

Repeat prescriptions can be ordered quickly and easily through a variety of methods. All repeat medication is issued with a counterfoil listing your current medication, we require at least  2 working days notice (not including weekends) and during busy periods, such as before or after Bank Holidays, we would appreciate being given extra time.

Please ensure you do not run out of your medication and order in plenty of time, however, please do not over-stock or 'stock-up' on medicines.

Listed below are the different ways in which your medication can be ordered.

By Hand : All repeat medication is issued with a counterfoil please tick clearly your requirements.  We have a box situated next to the front door in the lobby or feel free to hand to a member of reception staff.

By Fax :  Please tick clearly the items you require on your counterfoil and this can be faxed to 01872 864113

By Phone : Please telephone the Prescription Order Line on 01872 864424 which is open 24 hours a day.  A recorded message will guide you through on how to leave your order on the answer phone.

Online :  Please register with reception that you wish to use this service by giving us your email address.  You can then register online and order your medication following the links on our front page.

By Mail :  Please send your counterfoil clearly ticked with your requirements to The Dispensary, The Surgery, Bissoe Road, Carnon Downs, Truro TR3 6JD.

However, if your medication is very stable and you re-order the same tablets each month the “Repeat Prescription Service” could be just for you.  It is a really simple system that allows you to order the following month’s medication on the day that you collect your prescription.   Please ask at reception to see which method would be most suitable for you.

If you have misplaced your repeat medication counterfoil we can accept written requests but this must include your name, date of birth, address and all the items your require.

Items not listed on your repeat medication counterfoil will take longer than the usual 2 working days required.  All of these items have to authorised by your GP, who may not be in surgery that day, please allow extra time if this is the case.

Saturday Morning Appointments

Carnon Downs Surgery offers Saturday morning appointments between 0830 and 1050. The service is designed for those needing an appointment out of working hours and is only available by pre-booking in advance Monday to Friday in the preceding week. We will only see those patients with a pre-booked appointment and anyone attending without an appointment will be re-directed to dial 111 and speak to our Out of Hours Provider. Between the hours of 9 and 11 and while there is a dispenser in attendance, you may collect any repeat medication should you wish to do so.
