  1. Review titled Parking fiasco

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 08 May 2024

We had an appointment at the fracture clinic. No problem it has a car park. Oh wait a minute, you can’t park in the fracture clinic car park even if you have an appointment as others without an appointment abuse it by parking there. Go and park in the main car park even though there are large numbers of parking spaces with bollards in front of them. Also bear in mind that most people in fracture clinic are there because they have mobility issues and therefore making them walk extra distances seems not to be patient friendly. Our visit was therefore not as smooth as it could have been.

  2. Review titled Very very slow, No communication

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 06 May 2024

Went to A&E after getting an ‘appointment’ from 111. 22 hours spent there being passed around between departments who weren’t communicating at all. I understand that everywhere is short staffed but it was hard not to lose patience and ultimately pushing people to discharge themselves without receiving treatments Don’t take appointments if they don’t exist and you can’t handle the volume

  3. Review titled A very very big Thank you

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by John knapp - Posted on 18 May 2024

Visited today after stupidly running an angle grinder through my left big toe, the speed an extra exceptional care I recieved was first class, given the reason for visit. People need to take a step back and think of the service provided given 1. Its free unlike other countries and 2. And how they managed through the pandamic which we all clapped them for. Stop complaining and thank them all for what they do.

  4. Review titled Great Staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Andy - Posted on 07 May 2024

I found every one of your staff excellent this evening. I was dealt with in around 4 hours, including having an X-ray. The staff on this evening had some difficult customers to deal with and handled it exceptionally. The staff who dealt with me couldn’t do enough. Despite all the bad press I had a very positive experience. The Doctor that treated me was excellent and a credit to William Harvey.

I visted A&E on 2nd May 2024. Dealt with quickly in A&E reception. Assigned to UTC department. A quick assessment & more checks. A slight wait & seen by UTC GP. A quick diagnosis & prescription prepared electronically. All the team there were extremely professional & most friendly. The Team at UTC today deserve a thank you from me.

  8. Review titled Eye casualty advice

by Ponytail - Posted on 25 March 2024

My son has a flare up of uveitis so we call the eye triage but the call ended after a minute message so not able to talk to anyone. We tried to call eye casualty reception for advice and the receptionist quickly dismissed us telling us to call the other triage and when we ( tried to) explained that it was not possible to communicate with anyone he said they were busy then for some unknown reason ask me not to shout when I replied I wasn't ( please feel free to listen to the record call around 12.15) she hang up . This is unacceptable unprofessional and potentially negligent

Please could you contact my team via our email address which is ekhuft.patientvoice@nhs.net and we will try to assist. I look forward to hearing from you. 9. Review titled Children’s A&E was absolutely fantastic

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Ruth - Posted on 15 March 2024

Excellent service at the children’s A&E! Nurses and doctors were all brilliant, patience and caring. There were plastic screens in between seats in the waiting area which was a huge relief and even some staff giving out refreshments! Probably the smoothest and easier A&E experience we’ve ever had!

  10. Review titled Appalling

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Colin Wiles - Posted on 27 March 2024

Appalling experience from start to finish. Staff and departments do not communicate. We were referred by Deal hospital but the eye clinic claimed to have no knowledge of us. Staff there were rude. We were sent to the urgent treatment centre for triage who sent us to zone D, waited there for 90 minutes and then were sent to the eye clinic who admitted they did have a referral from Deal! In zone D there was a sign on the wall saying it will take three hours to see a GP (would a non-UK resident know what a GP is?) but when I queried this I was told it was out of date! At no stage were we given any indication of how long each stage of the process would take. In between all of this a lot of staff seemed to spend time chatting. The only bright light was a volunteer in the Eye Clinic who tried to help. Four hours from start to finish. Overall, most of the clinical staff are good but they are let down by poor management, poor processes and lack of communication.

Dear Mr Wiles, I am so sorry to read that you had such a bad experience. This is not the way we expect any of our patients to be treated. I completely empathise with you and understand how frustrating it must have been particularly when all you want sometimes is a bit of clarity. If you would like to discuss this further please contact my department via our email address which is ekhuft.patientvoice@nhs.net I look forward to hearing from you Josh Page (Patient Feedback Co-Ordinator)
