  2. Review titled Lovely initial triage then it does downhill

I am really upset by the way I was just spoken to by one of the nursing practitioners. We were seen for my son's ear infection and advised no antibiotics were necessary - unfortunately my son always does end up needing them due to secondary asthma symptoms, and I must have looked disappointed about the inevitable Gp trip we will need by Tuesday. The nurse practitioner turned to me (not my husband, strangely) and started a rant about how she's not going to prescribe antibiotics if she doesn't see a clinical need and how she'd have to justify it in the paperwork, so I should just go to the GP as they can "do what they want". I hadn't said a word! Genuinely have never ever been spoken to so rudely in either Bath or any of the Wiltshire medical practices. Bedside manner absolutely nonexistent.

  4. Review titled Not an urgent treatment centre

An awful trip to “UTC”. Waited for 2hours which wasnt an issue. Called in and instantly the nurse got my back up. When i told her why i was there she rudely answered” “well why are you here? This is minor injuries, we cant do anything you should have gone to a&e”. As somebody who is nervous with hospitals etc i was quite upset. I didnt want to waste peoples time and didnt know where else to go when in pain. After getting really upset, partly due to pain partly due to nervousness i went to leave and she had no empathy. She said she cant do anything if im in a state. I tried calming down and agreed to being assessed. She put my pain down to back pain which i didn't agree with. She then proceeded to tell me i wasnt listening and she was trying to give medical advice. I repeated everything she said to show i was listening. She was rude throughout, told me she had others waiting. Told me to get physio and got back to my GP. They cant do bloods/scans and its for injuries and nothing else. Despite what the website says. I left crying and in a state from basically being gaslighted and she didnt even look back! As a medical professional myself, i would never treat a patient like this. Have some empathy and maybe try and understand why your patient is that upset. Im angry at myself for saying sorry to the woman for getting upset when she was the one who caused it. Difficult to know where to go nowadays with pain when you dont want to waste the nhs time.

  5. Review titled Rude

Rated 1 star out of 5

Took my daughter to the urgent care centre due to her having croup (have done this twice in the past, with appropriate help and medication being given). Seen by very rude nurse practitioner, belittled me for bringing my daughter in with 'just a cough' and told me I shouldn't be there. This is against NICE and NHS guidance, steroids should be given based on description of the symptoms due to croup causing symptoms predominantly at night. She should have at the very least given information on what symptoms to watch out for and when to seek medical attention, she has a duty if care to do this as a nurse. Very worrying and disappointing behaviour

  6. Review titled Poor experience with this service.

Rated 2 stars out of 5

Attended the minor injuries and illness department of this hospital at 6pm and waited patiently to be seen. I attended due to severe inner hip pain which left me struggling to bare weight on it, like most I expect to wait as is the norm these days. At 7pm they turned the lights off and locked the doors, practically in the dark with people in the waiting room looking concerned at each other. I was pleased to finally hear my name and followed the nurse on duty to a room limping. Once there was asked what the problem was. explaining my symptoms and pain I was currently experiencing I was met with the rudest most condescending nurse I’ve ever met, she was instantly dismissive, talked over me and completely uninterested in anything I had to say. Apparently this hospital is not a minor injuries and illness department, even if I required an x-ray this wouldn’t be possible as they don’t x-ray hips, honestly that is ridiculous. I’m neither frail or have any known underlying health issues such as high BMI which could determine the outcome of treatment at this hospital. This person then diagnosed my condition, told me I didn’t appear to be limping even though I confronted her regarding this out of shock and said, did you not just bring me into the room. Is it any wonder patients and the ruh struggles when minor injuries or illnesses are not attended to in a appropriate manner at this hospital. This hospital does not provide this service after 7pm, doors are locked and patients are told their closed over a intercom at the main entrance. patients already there are affectively locked in. For all those wonderful staff and patients at this hospital I truly hope they treat you with the respect you deserve. By the way there isn’t a radiologist in the building after 4pm if you are needing an x-ray for any reason.

  7. Review titled Right time, right place

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I arrived at your hospital on Friday, having had a unexpected 'turn'. Having got a pacemaker, I continued feel unwell and was informed I needed to attend your hospital for further tests. The staff couldn't have done more. Because of that I'd experienced before, I was seen and tested quickly and given further advice to go to A & E, Bath. I would like to say a big thank you to all the staff that helped and supported me and I wouldn't hesitate to say they couldn't have done anything more. I left the hospital reassured that all would be well. Thank you so much

  9. Review titled Wonderful treatment

I attended Frome MIU with a fractured ankle. All staff, without exception, treated me with courtesy and care. I left feeling reassured and knowing I had been in good hands. Prior to this, I was unaware of the scope of MIU's. My experience was NHS at it best. Thank you to you all.
