  1. Review titled breakdown in communication

Rated 1 star out of 5

by stuart johnson - Posted on 14 January 2024

i made an appointment with my GP in June/July 2023 regarding longstanding problems with my knees. I was seeking a referral to have a total knee replacement on my right knee and to get a prognoses on my left knee. in October i received a phone call from the MSK dept. in that conversation it was made apparent that i needed an urgent knee replacement. in November I contacted my GP to see if there was any updates on the system...there were not!!! i was contacted again buy the MSK dept via phone. the person who rang initially thought it was regarding the second (left) knee replacement. i said that i hadn't had the first one yet! the physio apologized and said that they would look into why no referral was sent. they would also speak with their superior and try and get back to me but "don't worry if i don't it will get sorted". I have checked both my GP/NHS and Connect websites and there is still nothing listed. i understand the problems that the NHS and I actively support you in your plight, but this Christmas/new year as been a nightmare. my depression was the worse I have had in years. my weight has risen so much now that if i got a date soon the surgent wouldn't do the operation because of my BMI.

Dear Mr Johnson I am so sorry that you have been able to ascertain any definitive information regarding your knee replacement. I am just trying to ascertain if you have been referred to an Orthopaedic Surgeon for your care and treatment. Please could you contact me on lesleycrosby@connecthealth.co.uk and provide me with a telephone number I can call you on. I look forward to hearing from you Regards Lesley Crosby Director of Governance and Quality

  2. Review titled Don’t call about supporting a person with dementia

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Steve smith - Posted on 17 July 2023

After taking my mother to a Clinc who has dementia and asking for exercises to be printed out and they only send an app… completely useless for an 80 year old person with no smart phone. I’ve called and asked for the printable exercises to be emailed to me. The Newcastle office of Connect health refusing to help even when I am named as mother contact and would not send on email to me… this is a joke private company earning a fee for doing nothing. We wonder why the NHS is in such a state?? Totally unacceptable and awaiting a call back to sort this out.
