I have to collect mr reapeat prescription every 4 weeks and yet again this morning they did not have it ready despite being requested last thursday morning, after nearly a hour (again) I just walked out, I was asked 3 times what prescription I was waiting for and then when I told them i was leaving they said have you got enough medication to last?, It is always the same, they blame the surgery saying it has not come across so I go into the surgery who always give me a bar code and then back to the pharmacy who then find it, Burnham surgery / NHS really need to either find another pharmacy or to reopen the one in the Doctors surgery, I am now going on holiday for a week with no medication because the pharmacy is useless and full of excuses every time, Is there not another pharmacy that the surgery can use or are we left with this incompetent shower.

Thank you for your comments on your experience of using the pharmacy. It is very difficult to look into your particular situation without knowing who you are. If you would like to contact us directly you can email us. All our details are on our website and I will happily see where we can help you. As you have correctly identified there are times when the doctors say they have sent something to us and times when we are unable to see this on our system. Unfortunately prescriptions do not come directly to us via the doctors. They are uploaded onto the NHS spine to be then downloaded. Sometimes prescriptions can get "stuck" on the spine, and a barcode will help us to retrieve the prescription so we are able to access it. You can always contact us via email or phone to ask if your prescription is with us, to ensure your medication is ready to be picked up on a certain day, or as in your case ready for a holiday. You can always request your medication earlier so you are not left without medication.

To collect my medication 6 times now and every time excessive waiting .Last week was 3 hours and mistakes were made. It seems they are over subscribed and waiting time for medication is beyond my understanding .

Thank you for your feedback. We are very aware that waiting times can be beyond people’s expectations. Especially at peak times where there are multiple bank holidays when we are sent double prescriptions. This means it takes longer to prepare and dispense medication. There are also issues beyond our control that will impact on waiting times, such as having the correct stock. We are experiencing more and more medicine supply issues. This is a national issue and you will be able to see this very clearly discussed on the ITV’s tonight program ‘Pharmacies: The New NHS Frontline?’ which was first aired on 11th January. On average; one pharmacy is closing everyday in the country. This means more and more pressure is being put onto the existing pharmacies. It also means that you will experience longer waiting times where ever you go. Whilst we understand it is very frustrating for patients to wait longer, Savages Pharmacy is doing everything possible to support its patients to reduce these times and have invested heavily in the state of the art dispensing robot. This has been over a year in the planning and implementing. This will reduce waiting times moving forward.

  3. Review titled A badly-run pharmacy

Rated 1 star out of 5

Since September 2022, when the NHS Pharmacy closed, Savages Pharmacy have struggled. Initially it appeared that they had failed to recruit enough retail staff and the core staff struggled to meet Patient Expectations. It’s now May. I visited today to collect 3 Repeat Prescriptions, that according to a Savages-produced print-out, was available. The 3 items were not ready and in fact I was told to come back 30 minutes later! When I returned, I had to join another queue to collect. A number of customers were grumbling. Where we used to live, the Chemist operated a text system (SMS) informing patients when their Prescriptions were ready to collect. If only Savages would do the same, everyone would be happy.

  4. Review titled Under too much pressure!

Rated 1 star out of 5

Sadly with the close of the pharmacy within the surgery savages have taken on the workload. Too many mistakes to mention, consistently rude and unhelpful staff, waited 40 minutes and not all meds given to then be told to call surgery the next day. On doing so was told all prescriptions were sent over. Pharmacy again (same person) was rude and unapologetic after being told this and waited yet another 30 minutes (75 minutes in 2 days) to receive the final items on original script. Terrible experience and sadly not the first and have witnessed many other dissatisfied patients/customers.
