    I attended Hawkhurst chemist on Saturday 27th January 2024 afternoon at 1-15pm with my wife. We allowed (opened the door) for an elderly person to proceed before us, as we were in no rush. There were three staff members behind the pharmacy section, chatting and laughing.... Whilst we waited 10 minutes with no counter staff, a young employee approached the elderly person to receive their prescription and collect, only to be told... "We don't stock this, sorry" the person was in pieces, as desperate for their medication, no alternative was provided or a suitable solution..... When my turn appeared after a further 10 minutes wait, I believe the pharmacist came from the counter and announced.... "I'm trying to have my lunch break!!" Its not the customers problem if the chemist fails to provide adequate staff to support the needs of the business? I requested two packets of 400mg Ibuprofen..... I was then told by the chemist, "you cant have that many".... I explained, the medication is for both my wife and myself.....one packet each. The pharmacist then grunted to the counter assistant..... "Make sure you do two transactions" If this is the state of private pharmacy services with a lack of customer focus and value placed on its customer base, I sincerely hope sufficient members of the public acknowledge the atrocious attitude, manners and lack of service delivery and chose another provider. The sooner someone else takes over the franchise, the better for all those that require the services of a local pharmacist. Edited to comply with gdpr2018

    The experience I’m having is when ordering medication it takes more than a month to sort it and constant chasing when I don’t have time to chase people for my daughter prescription

    As a disabled person, I depend on others to collect my prescription from the pharmacy. As such, I like to phone ahead to check if it’s ready for collection to avoid wasted trips. This has become impossible as they never answer the phone. In addition, the last time I waited in the car outside the chemist while my carer went to collect my prescription which had been sent over by the surgery 4 days earlier. She was told it wasn’t ready (after queuing for 25 minutes) and she had to wait a further 45 minutes for them to prepare and dispense the prescription. Sadly, this has become “normal” practice for this pharmacy in the last 5 months or so. Disappointing and frustrating.
