    Following 2 days of painful tonsils and problems swallowing, yesterday I woke up with almost no voice, and I went to the Barkantine Pharmacy for some advice and perhaps to buy additional medication if needed. The pharmacist could see that I seriously struggled to get my voice out and he limited his questions to just a few relevant questions, and then he gave a brief list of things to do and what to take. And he also advised me that, if the problem persisted over a week, or got worse, I should book an appointment with my GP. I was assisted and I was thankful for his service.

    Polite front line staff. Helpful pharmacist. Willing to order the medication I needed and ensured I received it the same day. Made a follow up telephone call to ensure that I was having no issues with the new medication. Very efficient all round

    I was in the pharmacy this morning and patiently waited my turn. I gave the attendant my details and I was told the prescription was ready and I should take a seat while it was bagged. I informed them I would be back in 5mins to collect. I returned 10 mins later (they seemed busy so have them a little bit more time) only to be told my medication was not ready and they had been mistaken. After another 10 min wait I asked how long it would be. I was told it would take another 10 minutes. Bear in mind everyone else who was there initially had been served. Patients after me had been served. At this point I was the only person waiting for a prescription. I explained I had an appointment and couldn’t wait any longer. No apology, nothing. Just a blank stare asking me to wait another 10 mins. I’m expected to wait 30 mins just for one cream to be dispensed? It’s the fact that no one seemed to care. Maybe my one item doesn’t generate enough money for them to care. I will be changing pharmacies.
