I had a knee replacement, I cannot thank my consultant and the anaesthetist team enough my life is now getting back to normal, the staff on the ward b1 were very attentive, I was only in 2 nights but would highly recommend this hospital to anyone. The physio team are very good I only went twice as I am going to one nearer home. Thank you Wrightington for your exceptional care.

  4. Review titled Great treatment

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I have to say how well I’ve been treated by all the staff at this hospital but special thanks must go the Secretary L who gathered all my notes together from unsuccessful consultations with other specialists and passed this onto the consultant Mr G and what a guy he was so reassuring and knew exactly what my knee problem was after carefully looking through the notes had passed on to him. I want to get back to walking football and I’m very confident I will after my operation be able to return to the sport I have a real passion for. Thanks too for doing the X-ray and consultation together the guy in X-ray was great too as he had been through trauma with his knee in the past. Thanks guys it’s so much appreciated great people all round your all a credit to the NHS

  5. Review titled great staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I have recently had a full hip replacement. I cannot speak highly enough of all of the staff at Writtington. They were professional, kind, caring ad I felt safe and looked after. I have been home for only a few days and already feel great. Having an individual room was hugely unexpected but very nice indeed. Just one observation prior to surgery. I had 2 pre ops. After the first pre op I heard nothing. My assumption and I cant be alone in this is that my name had dropped off the list. It was very difficult to find any information. Eventually the Trust responded. Please keep us all informed, if we are not going to have the op within the timescale of the pre op, just let us know. We can cope. Thank you

  6. Review titled Brilliant Hospital

Rated 5 stars out of 5

From start to finish of my Knee replacement I was so well cared for by all Wrightington staff, Doctors, Surgeon, Nurses and Physiotherapists. All were efficient and nothing was too much trouble for them. The food was delicious and very good portions. I was only in for 3 days but got the whole caring package. The only disappointment was the tv in my room was broken and sitting on your own you do need something to occupy your mind. This did not stop me from wanting to award a 5 star review for their cae and efficiency.

  7. Review titled Total knee Replacement

Rated 5 stars out of 5

From initial consultation through to leaving the hospital can't fault anything, very kind and considerate, talked through every stage of procedure, the app is superb addition for recuperation, all staff, consultants and surgeons don't get the credit they deserve, been 12 days now since operation and very pleased with the results having had previous total knee replacement done in different hospital on different knee with not as good results.

  10. Review titled Patients kept in the dark

Rated 2 stars out of 5

This hospital claims to prioritise their customer experience, however I feel ignored and forgotten about. I live about 2 hours from the hospital (I don't drive so have to reply on public transport to get me there despite having hip issues). My letter said I was to go for a hip and knee CT scan in June. I took the day off work, made the 4 hour round trip only for them to say could I come back in for another scan as there was a mistake and they only did the hip! So I made the trip again. Since been back for an MRI as well. I was waiting for my results in September I got a letter saying sorry but they have had to cancel my consultation. A consultation I never knew I had as they didn't send a letter! So I tried to rearrange and was told they only do the young adult hip clinic once a month. Two weeks ago I got a letter saying I have an appointment in October but to ring up to find out what time. I have tried calling within office hours multiple times a day for the past 2 weeks and there has been no answer. Nobody ever answers the phone. This service is among the worst I have ever received. I am left not knowing if I even have an appointment or not and I can't risk the 4 hour trip with a lot of walking pain for nothing. I am extremely anxious and agitated as a result of the lack of care.
