by Kevin Broster - Posted on 01 April 2024

I had knee replacement surgery over the weekend upon arrival I was made to feel comfortable, my operation went well from the surgeons to the recovery team. I was then placed in my own room and the nurses looked after me and was always friendly, a special thanks to them all including the physio and wonderful catering staff. Thank you so much all of you for making my experience a good one, I can thoroughly recommend this hospital and staff. Kind regards Kevin.

From the moment i arrived at reception to book in for my Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy i received fantastic personal attention from my surgeon and all the various nursing staff. Post operation i was well looked after for my 24 hour stay and was given round the clock attention including meds and blood pressure measurements. I can highly recommend Woodthorpe Hospital Nottingham for their professionalism and patient care.

I had a total knee replacement on 21/2/24. Staff were wonderful and I was very well cared for in Ward 1, Room 12. This was my second operation at Woodthorpe under the NHS, and I would highly recommend it. First class treatment, thank you.

My visit was comfortable, the staff were absolutely 100% plus. Preoperative. was easy and straightforward, after op straight back to my room where the staff were very helpful and attentive, they were on hand at all times, the food was very good, nothing was too much for them. On day of release the physio. introduced me to crutches showing perfectly how to use them,on release the staff had all documents ready and return date. I would thoroughly recommend this hospital, truly 1 of the best I have attended.

  5. Review titled Be prepared for a wait if you're an NHS patient

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Sara Davis - Posted on 10 October 2023

Had my 'Breath Test' back in mid August and it was confirmed on site that I had a problem, 6 weeks later I was still waiting for the Call from them to confirm, Still 2 weeks further on & still have not received the Prescription for treatment that was prescribed... this is not the first time I've had to wait for diagnosis from here.. Because I've been referred from the nhs they push you to the back of the queue and expect you to wait.. When you try to call you are meant to jump through hoops to try & speak to someone.. Meanwhile you're still in pain waiting... & Waiting.. & Waiting.. no doubt it will be another month before they actually think about issuing the prescription for the problem I've had for 2 years.. Shocking Service..

  6. Review titled Good Treatmenr

I had a course of about 5 Physiotherapy sessions for a long-standing back problem, and they were very helpful and effective. Not everyone may know that it is possible to use these services as an outpatient, without being insured. I would certainly recommend this department for very pleasant and useful treatment.

  7. Review titled Perfect

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I had shoulder problem and was referred by my GP. I had my consultation appointment in August and surgery was scheduled for 18th Feb. I went there at 7:30 and I was in the theatre in less than an hour. Everything went smoothly: post operative information, aftercare information, review and physio appointments.... Caring and kind people. Thanks to everyone at woodthorpe hospital. Kind regards Amin

  8. Review titled Not very good atall.

Rated 1 star out of 5

Went to be admitted 1 -10- 2022.this was for total knee replacement surgery .Arrived 7 as asked to do,only to be told this procedure had been cancelled, but here's the thing. The reception said there had been a letter of cancellation on the 25th Aug 2022 now I had my pre op on the 2nd Sept 2022 went through all the procedure and was told they would see me on the 1st Oct with my supplement drinks shower wash, off I went.I suffer with severe anxiety and the days leading up to admission was horrendous for me I cannot do this again the build up and preparation, with long thought I will speak to my GP hopefully with another facility that is adequate to proceed with my op.This doesn't fill me with confidence they obviously cannot get the paper work correct so this does not give me the confidence with the operation.

  10. Review titled Not a great experience

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Amy - Posted on 10 November 2022

I never like to leave negative reviews but I feel like I have no choice. I was first seen at Woodthorpe hospital via NHS referral in December 2021. The Dr I saw was very dismissive and rushing me out of the door but I gave her the benefit of the doubt. Fast forward to June 2022, I was scheduled in for my day case. On the day, the ward staff were great and very friendly. I sent them a card after my op to thank them. It did seem very disorganized, I have a diagnosed disorder that requires medication before surgery. The communication between Woodthorpe and my consultant was very poor. I had to arrange an urgent hospital prescription for my medication as Woodthorpe hadn't obtained it, not sure who's fault this was. Things went smoothly with my op, the anaesthetist was amazing. In recovery, the surgeon visited me when I was half conscious and told me the findings of my procedure. This was the last time I saw or heard from her. Since this I have contacted Woodthorpe who told me that this doctor does not see NHS patients anymore. I was never informed of this and never received any post operative follow up. Today I received a follow up phonecall (4 months later) and was told the findings of my procedure. During this phonecall it was clear that the doctor hadn't read my history as he was suggesting the same things that I have tried over the past 15 years. I hope I can finally start to get some help regarding this situation now it's on here for other people to see
